I think your Confusing "Somers" with Westchester. While many "volly" departments occasionally screw up an alarm every now and then. Anyone who has listened to 46.26 can tell you that this is EXTREMELY COMMON practice with Somers. Heck, they have even failed to show up for several "larger" incidents.

Rest in Peace

The past few weeks I have seen quite a few rural metro ambulances throughout the county. From what I understood they don't have a presence in westchester? Can anyone else confirm that?
-
Not trying to bash any department, but how many redispatches, and No-shows does it take for a department to realize that their current procedures have failed. Does anyone else see this as a MAJOR concern not just for that departments taxpayers, but for mutual aid departments as well?
-
Rest in Peace. God bless you, your family, and all our servicemen, and servicewoman.

Maybe his camera broke...

Than is correct, although there are some exemptions primarily regarding the paid departments.

I was wondering what departments here in Westchester have a Triage tag system set in place for mass casualty situations. I know FDNY has a pretty easy, and effective color coded system in place.

This may sound like a "newbe" or rather "Probie" question, but what is the purpose of the tip up light bars?

My department is trying this new thing where if a Hydrant is OOS we will ban fires of all types (brush, structure, vehicle, ect...) within a 1,000' radius of that hydrant. .....So far so good!
-
I'd be more than happy to express my views, but I'm sure that would get my account on EMT bravo removed, so i'll leave it at that...

Heck, Why not. Well maybe not the FD, but I don't see why Water Districts can't. http://www.badgermeter.com/Water/Water-Meters/Recordall-Fire-Hydrant-Meter.aspx
