I think that's probably the village of Colonie. The Town of Colonie had a population of 81,951 in 2010

According to what I found old news paper articles, I believe the station was owned by the fire company/department, and then the fire district was paying rent to store equipment and whatever else there, which was a source of contention between the two

I think the brush truck/mini-pumper is over at the ambulance bay in the spare bay. Supposedly the new FD is building a fire house next to the ambulance bay, and the apparatus is being kept in the fenced in area until the fire house is built
-
I have heard rumors that there's a new fire department in Greenville and they were given all of Greenville's apparatus and equipment

Town of Warwick PD has had a motorcycle unit for quite a while now and it seems to work well for them. They have three motorcycles and as soon as the weather is nice enough, they usually have one or two guys a shift on the cycles. It's not a full time unit, so anyone in the department can go to their motorcycle school, they do their own, and I've seen all ranks riding the motorcycles, including the chief.

Does anyone know the frequency(ies) that State Police aviation operates on? I thought I remembered that they had their own set of frequencies, but I can't anything

I've driven the medics fly car/ambulance plenty of times. Never heard anything about an insurance issue. In fact, we almost always get asked to drive the medic's truck in if we have an extra member.
-
Nope, In NY, a fly car fits into the category of emergency ambulance service vehicle, which is any vehicle that is not a transporting ambulance that's used by an agency other than an aircraft or boat. This is either accomplished by meeting the minimum equipment requirements for an emergency ambulance service vehicle, which is less stringent than an ambulance, or you can obtain a waiver from DOH to exempt it from requirements as long as you show how the vehicle will be used within the agency. So if you meet the ambulance requirements, you should be more than good to use it as a fly car I don't know why leaving an ambulance somewhere would seem to be an issue. As long as it's locked up and everything, and usually if the medic's on another ambulance, all the drugs and stuff are with him. As for having a someone from a different agency alone in the back of your ambulance, NY does not care. The only thing NY cares about is that the person providing patient care is an NY certified EMT/paramedic, not what agency they're from, who's driving, etc.

I've seen it done all the time. Why wouldn't they be able to?

After doing a little research the phones are being made by a company that licenses the caterpillar brand. And i don't think it's that weird. If the phones do well, the next thing will be the caterpillar laptop that's their version of the toughbook, and before you know it everything on a construction site will be made by caterpillar and they'll be rolling in the profits

Is it just me or is the site not allowing us to post new incident alerts?
-
Out of curiosity, why did they decide to go with full time ALS coverage? It sounds like they're a BLS agency, and two EMTs is alot cheaper then two medics.
-
If the storms continues as they think it will, I think the city will get a good amount of snow and the further north you go, the less snow you'll see, such as Orange County will get a couple inches
-
Why? Are you looking to take the easier one and then use reciprocity to get the other state's EMT certification?
-
If you mean the 2013 Ferrara enigne, that was numbered 584 when they got it.

Kinda surprised to see them there, since they don't run any of the emergency services at the airport

I recently noticed that Westchester County has a continuous recruitment exam for EMTs. Does anyone know who hires off this list? And do they actively hire from the list or is this just one agency that's looking to hire a part time/ per diem EMT every other year?
-
One more thing to add to the list, make sure the agency actually gets out the door to calls. It's hard today to get volunteers, and you don't want to end up at the agency where you're the only one showing up, and then your calls are getting turned over to another agency cause your's can't crew.

Warwick FD will have their parade 18:00 on 6/20
