  2. Now they skipped out on their bill?? Sounds to me like the owner is covering his butt from a law suit for over serving!!
  3. I have a lot of experience on the Hudson river and can say first hand that not only the barges at the Tappan Zee bridge but the gas barges that anchor over night in the Hudson can be very difficult to see at night.

    Enough of the Monday morning quarter backing!! The exposure was protected and the burning gas contained. The job was successfully handled by all that responded. End of story!!
  11. I'll take the firefighter with street smarts and common sense over the firefighter with book smarts every time. An experienced firefighter who takes a promotional exam and does well has every right to be made. A college degree has no bearing on their knowledge and ability as a firefighter or boss.

  13. FYI for all the Hudson river boaters. Tow boat U.S. (Yonkers Marine services inc.) Also operates in the Hudson River and responds to boating emergencies. Boat U.S. has really stepped up it's service on the Hudson river the last couple of years.

  18. I agree with you 100%. Today's generation is a lot softer and thin skinned. The rookies today wouldn't have made it 25 years ago. How I miss the old timers! Happy Fathers Day
