  1. It was a REAL FIRE in the South End called "Oil City". Barges with oil came up Eastchester Creek to fill the HUGE tanks, seen in one of the last photos. I thought it was later, but the pictures tell the story. We had help from all over, including FDNY. It was scary driving into "Oil City" at that young age. One of the times I thought I was CRAZY for doing this, for FREE! The enclosed truck was Rescue 1, one of the first in the County,
