greenwich pd has one, I was denied from taking pics of it about 3 years ago, looks the same just blue.

How come White Plains has a majority of ford crew cab pumpers and frieghliners instead of your "traditional" engine or truck?

I didn't know if this should be posted in the law enforcement section or not, but how long does it take to get test results from nyc fire and police? did anyone who just took the pd exam get any results back?

I was just wondering what other dept's age requirements and rules for ff1 are. Are canidates under the age of 18 allowed to take the class, and not participate in the physcial portion of the class until their birthday?, or are they not allowed to take it at all?

Who knows what will happen. For those of you that aren't fimiliar with the town of greenwich, they are slow on getting things done. I've also heard that GPD will be encrypted, the town also has to buy all new radio's. the one's the detective's and some fd have now are too old for the proposed system. The new Uniden is pretty nice, if I were to buy I'de get that. Greenwich is also suppoused to open up a new fire station within the next 3 years, for those of you that remember the last fire station (8) took about 10 years to come about

From watching the show on discovery, and seeing various pics online. i've noticed that half of the guys in boston wear full gear, and others don't. Also whats up with their helmets? they seem old, and stand out from a traditional leather

Just like most of your departments, mine has similiar policies. I'm not excally sure what they are, so i'm not going to dig myself into a deep hole by stating the wrong thing. But I do have 2 stories positive stories about pv's at a scene. At the last structure fire I went to I parked over a mile away, and when overhaul was almost over, a LT in my dept. told me to go get my truck, and bring it directly to the scene, so that all the hose could be brought back to the station, because the engine was stuck in the driveway. This past winter the engine was out on a call, and we got a call for a child who had fallen through the ice out, so my chief put the rescue sled in his truck and got it to the scene. Althought by the time we got there the girl was safely out of the water, it still counts as a good thing for personal vehicles.

I pretty much agree with everyone on this topic, it seems like one of those things that you just can't think too negativaley about, beacause either way it's a good thing. FYI i got a new truck today, and yes the stars and stripes are going on the read window
