Rescue 1 had a lot of issues with their rig. Of what I'm hearing the KMEs are holding up pretty well. Our spec is written down to what nut and bolt is used literally it's that precise and detailed. We expect our rigs to perform to a certain level and if it can't we can't have any confidence in it to do it's job and get us there. And right now a majority of the companies that have Ferraras don't have that much confidence in their rigs
-
I love how you tell me that I've had too much koolaid and basically that I'm wrong with what I post about these rigs when I have first hand expierence with operating these rigs. And spend an awful amount of time in these rigs. So please enlighten me on how I'm wrong with what I say about these rigs.
-
Nah I'm not a kool aid drinker. Just have first hand expierence with their rigs and it was far from premier heavy duty custom apparatus manufacturer that they claim to do
-
Americas premier custom heavy duty fire apparatus manufacturer. HA that's a joke right ?

Down in the city of New Brunswick nj where Rutgers is. They are a paid dept and their first call is station 27 east franklin volunteer fire department which is in somerset county and boarders them. They have a wonderful relationship with one another and work very well together with no problems

Those are two piece Beadlock rims. Most likely military spec

First hand expierence there was a time when the mechanic was there literally 7 days in a row for almost 8 hours a day working on different problems. We were ready to give him a locker and a personal bunk. Their quality control is terrible. A lot of half assed work for instant if te window was all the way down it would out pressure on the door lock rod and almost make the door open by itself. We had numerous problems with the turn table and ladder problems with the electronics on the rig. Had problems with the fuel pump an a bunch more. That was just my company a bunch of other companies had similar and other problems also. The rescues are a different story. They have there own set of problems

Ferrara sucks. We were one of the companies to get a new replacement for our "new" Ferrara we took delivery in 2012 their craftsmanship and attention to detail are horrendous. We have not had any of the companies that I run in with take delivery of a KME so I can't give you and personal reviews on that. But I have heard that they are well liked by the brothers who have them in their companies
-
Yeah your right that's another issue for another day
-
Trying to fix something that isn't broken We do have the PAC tracker to help find a downed brother or brothers who's pass alarm is in full alert
-
Can't fix stupid
-
It's a civilian position
-
Still using them. Last job i went to probably will hold was used I would ask your source where they got the info from. If it's someone credable like m'ave said they are certainly not letting us know in the field
-
Yeah it's in service
-
Yeah never had a loaner or one of the emergency orders after 9-11
-
54 had one of 3 Ferrara high pressure pumpers 26 and 258 had the others those rigs were 2003s. I'm pretty sure they didn't have one loaner

Would you call a critique Monday morning quarterbacking ? How can you learn from mistakes if they aren't discussed ? This is how we all learn from "low level volunteers" to the FDNY we all learn from mistakes that were made. Different people see different things in the video and each of them pointed it out. So take is as constructive criticism And if you think it's pre school about my leather helmet comment his actions speak for themselves just because he's wearing a leather helmet doesn't make him a better firefighter just makes him look like a poser. Maybe he should stop worrying about his image and worry more about his skills as a firefighter

I agree with what you say everybody goes wasn't disagreeing.

If you have 3 competent men on a line then a 2 1/2 isn't a problem. When you have guys that are having a hard time stretching a 1 3/4 line moving up to a 2 1/2 might be hard for them. They need a back to basic class just to go over the basics of stretching lines, choosing the right line for the conditions and building type, proper ventilation, door control and a few other things but mostly stretching a line an chasing kinks, kinks will reduce the amoun of prussure at the nozzle and it seems that there were numerous kinks. Noticed in the video he was wearing a leather helmet I know it had nothing to do with his ability as a fireman but a lot people think it's a fashion show rather than justworrying about putting the fire out and having the nessecary skills to do such. Sorry just my pet peeve Even though I prefer my leather over my plastic helmet because it's more comfortable to me

I'm just speaking from personal expierence that has happened to me from posting constructive criticism and for warning others. My post and my username have nothing to do with my intellegence or anything like that it's just my personal opinion And yes I do agree with the op that there were a few tactics that need to be reviewed and worked on

Even if you suggest "constructive" criticism on this site people delete the posts and tell you it's an inflammatory comment. Apparently most people on these boards don't have thick skin and can't take it

Why are you Monday morning quarterbacking the decision the brothers made ? It was a serverly stressful situation when your brother gets injuried that serverly. They made that decision based on what they thought was best. Nypd escorted the bus to Bellevue where he got the best care you can for this type of injury. If you are so concerned with the decision they made and are questioning it, why don't you call over there and tell them how they made the wrong decision and tell them how you would of done it Hope for a speedy recovery for this brother

Nigro is gonna do very well for us
