  1. That would explain the strip. Thanks Stealthmedic1
  2. Rescue 14 It's not really used much and OFD should have a department wide page or at least each house should. Every dept should in my opinion have one. It's a great way to recruit and get yourselves involved with the public.
  3. I went to school with his son, it's crazy to see the resemblence between the 2.
  4. Probably would be fairly common on some of the anti-whaling ships and such. They use water cannon's as a defense mechanism.
  5. Yahoo Video About Police and First Responders
  6. The KIA is from PA and apparently their laws are that they have to be visible from all directions (360 deg) volunteers are only allowed to run blue lights. If they are a volunteer and are responding with an ambulance they can run blue and white. Chief's can only run red lights.
  7. I'm also not sure why they have the strip of orange tape covering the "Advanced" part in the Advanced Life Support lettering on 74 A2
  8. The ALS vehicles say 74 A1 and 74 A2 but the original photo in this thread does say 7481.
  9. The truck and element are just a bit much. The kia is the most tasteful out of all of them but even then, is it really necessary to have the alternating blue in the fog lamps? As ESPN puts it "C'mon Man!"
  10. I just looked online and 60 control is listed as offline. Anyone know anything about it?
  11. That's kind of what I figured but better to ask than to assume.
  12. A few people who commented on the video said the building was abandoned and the fire marshall was investigating. The next morning they came in with high powered water blasters and shot the exterior walls so they would collapse inside the rubbel and not outside and injure any passerby's.
  13. the remainder of the apparatus
  14. All O.V.A.C. apparatus

  17. Engine 99 "Monitor Hose", Engine 100 "Holla Hose", Engine 101 "Independent Hose", Tower Ladder 42 "Washington Hook & Ladder"
  18. Engine 96 "Ossining Hose", Ladder 41 "Senate Hook & Ladder", Engine 97 "Cataract Hose" Engine 98 "Steamer Hose"
  19. I'm not a fireman but have a scanner on my phone and like to listen to 60 Control, particularly when the tones go off in my town so I know what's going on. I was listening this morning as Ossining had a duel response call to Maryknoll - St. Theresa's with Millwood. Upon listening I heard either Car 2331 or 2332 (don't remember off hand) radio to KB467 (Ossining Police) that he wanted all apparatus to respond as Code 2. My question is what exactly are Codes 1-3?
  20. National Weather Service confirmed one was recorded as an EF-3 in the Fujita scale. Not sure about the other yet.
  21. From what I was told from someone that's with Croton FD, Code 2 is responding with lights and minimal siren. Siren is primarily used while approaching intersections.
  22. Duel response is always the case for Maryknoll due to being on the border of both districts so both Millwood and Ossining respond. Or at least I think it is, I'll have to double check on that so don't quote me on it.
  23. Thanks for the clarification everyone. I have a general understanding of this now.
  24. They come highly recommended from B&H so it's legit. I've never used it but if B&H recommends them then they must be good.
