Sorry for the crap quality. First time I've ever shot in there and to say the least the lighting/glass was not photo friendly but here's a couple shots I got. A good time was had by myself and the people I was with though and it looked like a lot of money was raised so thanks to the Village/Town of Mam'k fire depts for such an event. Edit: Launch time will be between midnight and 3 am Edit 2: Due to weather deteriorating and boats being uncooperative to stay out of the launch area they NASA has officially scrubbed the mission as of 0132 hrs. Due to expected weather conditions they will not be able to launch on Friday night. They will attempt again on Saturday as long as the weather is clear. If they do not have clear skies, they will be unable to launch. They will be doing a weather update tomorrow for Saturday as the current forecast called for a 40% chance of lightning for Saturday night. I wouldn't be surprised to see them scrub for Saturday as well and re-attempt for Sunday or Monday night. Edit 3: NASA had a weather briefing yesterday and decided that due to inclement weather they will launch no sooner than Monday night. Their launch window will be from 12 am - 3 am Tuesday morning. There's a chance he may not be coming to the Jets. Denver wants the Jets to pay them back the $5 mill performance incentive in his contract but NY won't do it. He could end up in St. Louis or Jacksonville.

I was the one walking around with the 70-200 2.8L shooting through the glass. I've been pretty backed up with photos and am just about ready to start editing those pics. I checked out your youtube videos from it. The streaks really aren't all that noticeable and don't really bother me but obviously it does effect the composition and quality of the shot. That was the first vid I've seen from that and I'm quite impressed with the quality of it. It's fantastic.

Were you the one shooting with the Red? I'm normally ok with shooting through the glass but wasn't accustomed to such low glass (I'm used to shooting college/semi-pro) and esp through glass with so many puck streaks on it.

Indeed, it was a pretty good sized crowd too. Shot what I could in between puck streaks on the glass. lol

The fire has been confirmed as starting in the underground garage on the - 2 level and was started by a Ferrari leaking petrol. Update 2 19:21 CET: The fire started around 16h40 at the -2 parking, as we reported earlier one light wounded has already been treated by the medics. The fire is still going on, around 100 firemen are working on it but it's really hard to get the fire under control because of the heavy smoke and high temperatures inside the garage. As one of our readers already commented below, it was already hot in the garage last year when the Gumball 3000 was there, imagine now. Update 3: The unconfirmed cause of the fire is a car on -2 that leaked petrol. For safety reasons the Place Vendôme and 400 meter around it has been closed off. Around 7pm CET, the firemen made a statement that the garage is still burning and that they don't know yet how big the devastation in the Place Vendome garage is. But apparently, quite a lot of cars burned down, very bad news. I happened to come across a few videos of the New Chicago FD on Youtube the other night. Based on comments I saw they are a Volunteer Dept. and manpower is reportedly an issue, at least during the day it is. One video of them had an engine showing up on scene to a fully involved structure fire with its siren blaring and no lights on. I'm no MOS or anything so please do correct me if I'm wrong but they seemed to be a little "off" to say the least. http://youtu.be/TlU8tL4Roho
