  1. Also, someone has to post it. These things don't post themselves, unless I am missing out on a new iPhone app lol!!
  2. I applied there a couple different times, and it was like pulling teeth to hear back from them. They were atrocious about getting back to me.
  3. [suspicious] [/suspicious]
  4. Amazing how the people who MAKE these decisions always have a secure job
  5. And what if it was in Brazil, or California, or France, or Russia, then, when its not "so close to home" would it be ok? So someone who views from Brazil, or France sees said picture, and recognizes it, does that make it "inappropriate"? Or is it just because its "close to home here", and some people recognize it, its wrong? Or is it just that people hate bad press for doing something stupid? Its time the fire service mans up and admits when it does things wrong instead of crying "bashing" or anything else of the sort, but that should not lead to beating a dead horse. Yup, they did something wrong, admit it, and try and save face.
  6. Wow, I sure have seen some tricky technical rescues, but this is one ya don't see every day!!! Glad to hear it was a successful rescue, and hopefully everyone can take a little away from this! The pictures give a good perspective of applied techniques used for a variety of other rescues, and sometimes you just have to go back to the basics. Attend to patient, stabilize, extricate. Of course there are always many variables, but in essence, sometimes just going back to the basics is what is needed the most! Thank you markmets415 for sharing, definitely not something you see every day, well, maybe with the exception of the REAL rural areas, but even then, lol!
  7. Just saw this ad in a Firehouse Magazine this past week (don't remember which month, but the ad says posted in Feb): http://www.firehouse.com/news/industry-wire/rescue-42-introduces-mobile-incident-command-post http://www.rescue42.com/vault.php

  11. It is the fire chief's responsibility to cause for an investigation to determine the cause, not to actually determine the cause. Such as least is the wording of the law. This means that they need to have an investigation done, whether its be by the chief themselves, a member(s), etc..., whomever.
