-
I'm assuming it will be housed in ESU Headquarters on Yonkers Ave????
-
I can confirm that KME is the winning bidder...There was a pre-building meeting last month, I believe the process has begun

And by the way, that said Chief has stopped for three accidents on his way either to or from work to help out in the last week.
-
How about it is allowed by the village...If the village board knows about it, why is it wrong? For all the time they put in and do for the village that is what they get.
-
If you guys are telling me that every fire in your jurisdiction all of the firefighters wear every piece of PPE and wear it properly, then you are full of it....There is no way that happens no matter where you are... And if you actually claim that is true...Is there someone at the front door when the first due company gets there to inspect everyone going through that door?
-
Did anybody get their results from the Mt. Vernon PD exam yet...I got mine today...Was wondering if a 90 was any good?
-
good point there have been accidents when hastings has not even called mutual aid but due to the proximity of to the borders of any of the other jurisdictions there were up three other sets of tools on scene in minutes...
-
That's been attempted for years, but it hasn't been put into the budget. Don't know why but that's all i am gonna say.

Hastings is in the process of converting eng 43 to a rescue rig...Yes it is 30 years old, but other than a little bit of rust there are no problems with the truck at all. The village is not going to go for a new engine this year, a new ladder next year and a rescue. The rescue goes on about 100 runs a year...
-
The handlines are 1 3/4 inch...That is the smallest that Hastings carries.
-
Just opened my results in the mail. I am back in after a year off.
-
It's a great job. i did it for a summer and met a lot of great people and had a wonderful experience. You can make a ton of money if you want, playland has plenty of OT available almost everyday.
-
I was just informed that at last night's board of trustee's meeting bids were awarded to Seagrave for a new pumper to replace engine 46 (84 hahn) and to lifeline for a new ambulance to replace 62-b2(89 medtec).
-
You're right it is actaully Hastings-on-Hudson FD, but its a little easier to say hastings.
-
I drive trucks all day with both types of gear shifts. The only reason I prefer the handle shifter is because if you are driving down the road and something happens, it is a lot easier to grab a hand and pull down then to find a button make sure it is the right one and then press the button two or three times. It just gives me a little more sense of control over the vehicle that I am driving.

Does anyone know what a good number to be on the MVPD list is? I heard from someone that as long as you are in the top 100 you in good shape...does this sound right to any of you guys?
-
At the class I went to for ice rescue they said that they recomended an animal resue as an emergency for that reason
-
Isn't part of the job prevention as well? If you leave a dog in the ice someone is going to try and get it out and may end up falling through themselves.
-
the ladder is going to be a couple of years away, but they are putting the specs together. I heard through the grapevine that a new engine has been approved to replace 84 hahn engine 46. the ambulance is in the works as well.
-
I know somebody that starts either next week or the week after. I can;t remember the day i told that they start
-
There is a rig committee, but i think a new ladder is a couple of years away.
