  2. The BravoOrange skin should still be there? Are you still having trouble getting it?
  3. September 30th, 2005 The EMTBravo Network-EMTBravo.net (The Forums Of EMTBravo.com) Reach 3,000 Registered Members. Of which approx 1,000 members are active on a regular basis. Approx 300 are regularly active on a daily basis. (Active-Regular Basis: View the forums once a month or more) (Active-Daily Basis: view the forums daily) In addition to members who actively visit the forums, numerous members are taking advantage of the Daily and Weekly Digest Email Features to keep up with the posting and information presented on the forum. EMTBravo Network started on November 13th, 2003 with 0 members. The new forum software and domain, www.EMTBravo.net, Premiered July 24th, 2005, and in September 2005 activity and feature usage is at a record high level. Thanks to all the forum members. There's a lot more in store for the future.....
  4. As I said clearly in my original comment that is quoted above......... How can someone "critique", or comment on an incident properly without having a complete set of correct facts??? THAT is the issue. Incident Critiques should be held at the department level, with those actually involved in and familiar with the incident. Incident errors should be discussed and worked out in training classes as well as with your local Fire Instructor or Training-Safety or other company officer. Departments should also work together to help each other with their mistakes. At this time, unless some members are able to make a case strong enough to convince me, I do not feel that opening this forum to let random people who may or may not be involved with the incidents critique them would be beneficial. More often then not, people use rumors, what they heard on the fire radio, their opinion or bias, or what they saw in the photos to comment on incidents. It is also not the role or point of this forum to second guess the incident commander. And my feeling is that most departments and members who visit this site wouldn't want this either Please click here to read the "Statement On Site Content" for further information As usual, open to comments, but not likely that the position of this forum will change regarding this issue.....
  5. Many times, I am asked "What is the "Warn" thing below my name?" and "I don't see it on anybody elses?" The warn level can only be seen by YOU and the moderators/admins. No other member can see your warn level. Again, only you and the mods can see your own warn level. The warn level is to keep track of members who violate the rules or are constantly offensive or negative, so that the appropriate actions can fairly be taken to maintain this board as a positive, constructive, and resepctful place to exchange information. If you have anything above 0%, you may click on the number to view your warn log. If you do not have any warnings, your warning level will read 0%. The maximum warn level is 100%, at which point posting abilities are suspended. If you have any questions regarding your warn level, please contact me at EMTBravo@EMTBravo.com
  6. It's not you you in particular.....so please do not take offense, especially since you want to rectify the issue, which is much appreciated. We will be looking into adding the feature, thanks for the suggestion.
  7. I was disgusted to come home and read the "Awful News Coverage" thread, and frankly, was quite annoyed that my time was wasted dealing with this, and because some members cannot read or respect the rules of this forum. There have been a few members warned for their actions on that thread, and one member has had their posting privileges suspended indefinitely, and one member has been repeatedly warned regarding the tone and nature of his posts, yet continues to disregard the notices...as a result, his account has been terminated due to his lack of respect of fellow forum members and the administrators of this forum. If you see something offensive, or rule-violating, I urge you not to get into it....hit "Report Post", and we will deal with the post as soon as we can. This board will NOT be a bash-fest, flame fest between members, or a whine fest about something. If you wish to discuss a legitimate issue intelligently, respectfully, and rationally, and most important....PROFESSIONALLY..... feel free. If you have a problem with something....don't use this board to advertise it, unless you're looking to solve it or get help with it. Another issue....SPELLING AND GRAMMAR...this includes proper capitalization of city names!!! Posts that contain numerous spelling and grammar errors will be DELETED!!! There are several ways to check your spelling and grammar, make your posts easier to read for fellow members! Again, there will be ZERO tolerance for negative comments and behavior! I maintain this forum as a positive, respectful, and constructive place to exchange information and ideas! We will continue to take actions neccesary to make this forum a comfortable place for all that wish to use this forum in that context. Threads like that bring this forum down, and make this whole forum look bad, and not what I want it to be. There are plenty of awesome members on this forum, and I work hard maintaining this for them. I hope you all understand where I am coming from...
  8. Due to popular request, I have added a statistics page to the forum, just for a fun way to track forum items. As you may know, the old forum had one as well. You can access this page by clicking on the "Statistics" link in the to header, or click the link below. EMTBravo Network Statistics It may take a moment to load while it queries the stats. Stats tracked in real-time include: -Top 10 Forums With Most Posts -Top 10 Forums With Most Topics -Top 10 Topics With Most Views -Top 10 Topics With Most Posts -Top 10 Posters In The Past Week -Top 10 Posters In The Past Month -Top 10 Topic Starters -Top 10 Members With Highest Posts Per Day -Top Topics Created By Month -Top Posts Created By Month -Top 10 Oldest Forum Members *Please note any member making posts to increase their post count or get on the stats page will have their post counts reduced.
  9. Hmmm.... They are showing with this account, and a test member account I created. Additionally, nobody else has reported an issue. Is this only in one or two forums, or ALL forums???? Note that in some forums, the "Edit" button may not be available after a certain timeframe, and the Quote button may not be available at all. I doubt their could be a worm in the Apple.
  10. I'm just curious how everyone is adjusting to the new forum, now that's it's been in place for over a month?? As has been said, there are numerousn new features that are making things quick and simpler for me, both as an administrator and member. Additionally, if anybody has any questions, comments, concerns, or any other feedback regarding this forum at any time, always feel free to let me know.
  11. Towards the bottom of the main screen, click on "Delete All Cookies Set By This Board" -AND- "Mark All Posts As Read" Log out, and log back in and your problem should be resolved for subsequent visits.
  12. Anyways, if you want to see Todays Top 10 Posters, click here http://emtbravo.net/index.php?act=Members&max_results=10&sort_key=posts&sort_order=desc]For'>http://emtbravo.net/index.php?act=Members&max_results=10&sort_key=posts&sort_order=desc]For The Overall Top 10 Posters, Click Here http://emtbravo.net/index.php?act=Members Of course, you can sort the memberlist in a whole bunch of different ways, including a sort to see the Top 50 Posting Members, by clicking here Maybe, in the future I will bring it back to the main page. When members make posts just to make posts to get on that list, they will have their post counts reduced. This includes members making numerous one line posts or one word replies that do nothing to contribute to the topic to numerous different topics. All the links I provided in this post are found in numerous places on this forum. Please remember my reply to this question. And please feel free to enjoy all the other amentities this board provides.
  13. There is a chatroom, it is not active however. Unfortunetly, nobody used it...well, the select few that did were inappropriate in using it and turned other members wishing to use it away with their behavior, so I didn't see the need to bring it back. However, I am considering for the cold winter months a moderated chat night which would signal the return of the chat room. Show your support if you want it back and why you want it back.
  14. On Wednesday, this board struck 30,000 posts. As of this moment, we have 30,108 in 5,286 topics made by 2,984 members. While marking this event, I'd like to take the time to update you on the site. Some brief stats for the site.....the month of July 2005 was the busiest time ever for both EMTBravo.com and EMTBravo.net Incident alert continues to be the most popular and most visited portion of the forums, and all the other forums continue to do tremendously well. I love the threads that exhange information and ideas constructively and repsectfully, and the friendships that are made and developed through this board. I hope you are growing used to and growing to like the new board. If you notice, the board is located at a new domain, www.emtbravo.net . We are continuing to tweak it up and roll out new features. Next month, a new version of the software that this forum runs on will be released, and I think you all will be happy with some of the improved features, including a more dynamic and interactive "My Assistant" and improved post read handling. We are also working on several projects to fund the operation of this site, as it is expensive to operate. We will be adding a feature that will allow you to "subscribe" to this forum in the near future, on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis. We are also currently researching limited advertising/sponsorship of the site. Finally, we are in the development phase of a long awaited and long requested t-shirt. And the redevelopment of EMTBravo.com, the flagship photo site, continues. We hope to premiere the new EMTBravo.com sometime in the early winter. On a down note, complaints still continue to be heard as to why EMTBravo.com is not updated frequently, and "why aren't my photos posted yet". Just wanted to throw in that we do the best we can to present content you want to see. I try as hard as I can to update as much as possible....which is difficult sometimes between work, travel, and personal obligations. Updates also take quite a bit of my time....For example, the latest update, 901's photos of the Mount Vernon Regional Hazmat Drill, took me 2 1/2 hours to do. That's partially because each photo is hand reviewed, hand selected-in this case from a pool of over 300 photos that 901 took that day, and manually edited. Then the photos are uploaded, and the page is written, by hand. Hopefully, the new site will streamline and make some of this process easier and faster, as well as make the site easier to navigate, but nothing will replace the effort that is put into making sure only the best is posted in the best way possible for you. As always, any questions, comments, concerns, ideas, thoughts, complaints, anything at all....feel free to email me at EMTBravo@EMTBravo.com Thanks again to all of you who make this site what it is. Now I'm going out to ride my bike and get some fresh air and excercise!!! -EMTBravo and the EMTBravo Webteam

  16. Check out the EMTBravo Network Forums (this portion of the site's) NEW domain www.emtbravo.net As always, the main flagship site can be found at www.emtbravo.com
  17. Based on feedback from members, initiated by Pudge3311, I moved the new post indicator icons over from the old board to here. Should look familiar, and should be easier to differentiate new posts. Let me know if it looks OK to you, and if it is working properly. Please keep the feedback coming so I know what you guys want/need and so I can customize the board to suit our membership. Thanks!
  18. "Mark this board as read" and "Mark all topics as read" are the same features, I believe. When I click it, it marks all topics as read. What you need to do is remove the cookies from the old board (emtbravo.just5buckshosting.com) , and this new board. Read this topic for further details: http://emtbravo.invisionzone.com/index.php...p&CODE=01&HID=2
  19. Click "Delete Cookie Set By This Board" and "Mark This Board As Read". Also, may be the cookies that are stuck in your browser from the old board, so purge those cookies as well.
  20. I liked that feature too. As I've answered on multiple other threads, the Incident alerts on the main page will reappear (tentatively) later this summer. We are working on some new things before that can happen.. In the meantime, you can go directly to the Incident alert forum to view the Incident alerts, OR you can choose to have the Incident alerts delivered to your email either immeditely, daily or weekly OR access the forum on your cell phone or PDA to check IA's using our Lo-Fi version. We're still working on making this board work for all our members.
  21. So, how do you like the new forum?? I miss the old forum, but this forum software is going to be so much better for all.
  22. We're working on several of the issues presented. The old board didn't start out the way it was. I worked very hard "customizing" the old board to suit members needs..and to make it easier for them to use. Based on everybody's feedback, I will be doing the same with this board. I just hope the more "vocal" members, and the nitpickers who have emailed me, who do not like this board give it a little more of a chance and give me a chance to make the changes.......We have listened to your feedback, and are looking at/working on the issues. Also, so far the positive reviews have far outweighed the negative.
  23. Yes, topics with new posts do go to the top. Also, YOU are in control of the order of topics and how each forum is displayed. Just scoll to the bottom of each forum, and it gives you a variety of options on how to display the topics and in what order....choose the options that best fit your needs and click Go...and you're all set. Also, are you aware of the "View New Topics", "Todays Active Topics", and "My Assistant" features??? All those will bring ALL the new posts and topics since your last visit to one central screen. I'm also working on getting new post icons that are easier to differentiate. Additionally, for an easier, quicker way to read through topics, also check out the lo-fi version. You can't reply, but if your just reading it may be easier. http://emtbravo.invisionzone.com/lofiversion/index.php/ It does take some getting used to. I initially wanted to switch back, but now I do not think I am....the features of this board have made administering it so much easier and faster for me, and have made using it more fun and interesting to use the board. That question has already been asked, and answered in this thread. Also, we are still in the process of setting up this new forum and rolling out new things. Please keep the feedback and questions coming. I want to make sure everybody has as comfortable a transition as possible.
  24. George and others, I added a "5 Most Recent Posts" module to the top of the forum. It doesn't scroll, ut it is otherwise similar to the 10 Topics Scroll of the old forum. How do you like it? My question is, do you want it on top of the forum or on the bottom, like before?????
  25. Done. You should now see a "Fast Reply" box at the bottom of every thread, provided that you selected "Yes" In the "Open Fast Reply automatically when available? *" option in your Board Settings Menu. Please let me know if you would like to see any features added, or are missing any features from the old board that you would like back.
