  1. Members- If I may ask a question, how did you find out about this website, either or both EMTBravo.com and/or EMTBravo.net??? If I also may ask, how do you think can we get the word out to more people in the Metro area Emergency Services community about this forum? The more members there are, the more knowledge is shared, and the better this forum becomes. Thanks for your input! -EMTBravo

  6. Members- If you notice, we have updated our header logo at the top of the page. Not only was it time for a freshening, we wanted to emphasize one of our new missions: getting more of our excellent member base to share their knowledge and experience with us all so that we may all learn from each other. We hope you like it. -EMTBravo Network Webteam Also, don't forget to check out and help us spread the word about EMTBravo Network's sister forums: http://www.emtbravonewengland.com http://www.emtbravowest.com
  7. ****THIS IS A STATEMENT ONLY**** Members, If you have not posted because of fear of your post being deleted, we ask that you give us another chance. Many members have voiced complaints about posts getting deleted, and not being allowed to talk about conterversial topics. We really want more members to post, and those members who don't post anymore because they believe we delete posts because of an "agenda" or other untrue accusation to come back and be active again. As this forum continues to grow and mature, we have decided to permit discussions that were previously limited in the past. We realize that no matter what, some people will be offended. This forum presents a tremendous oppurtunity to share information, learn from one another (and our mistakes), make contacts, and strengthen the emergency services community. Even if an issue affects only one specific department, perhaps it affects another and something can be learned. T Please note that we only want topics and posts that are constructive, with a positive and respectful discussion or debate. We encourage all members who see a post that they disagree with or view as incorrect, and have factual information about the topic at hand, to post and enlighten and educate the other members. Don't just sit there and complain silently about inaccurate posts on this forum-do something to change that. We ask that members stand behind what they say on this forum. We will continue to work hard to minimize the nonsense that is typically found on other forums. We hope that you will cooperate with us to make this happen. We also hope that members will show some respect to the moderators and administrators of this forum. We are completly neutral, and only delete posts that do not comply with the rules of the forum. There is a large amount of people that visit and read this forum daily, and we feel we have a reponsibility to provide the best information we can. The following types of posts are for the most partt not permitted, and are deleted using EXTREME DISCRETION AND CONSIDERATION (MEMBERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT THEY POST, NOT THE ADMINSTRATION OF THIS FORUM!) -Attacking,harrasing, or taunting another member, moderator, or adminstrator -Disregarding a moderator or administrators request -Negative comments and "one liners" that do not contribute to the discussion at hand. -Bashing of a department, person, or this site -Posting of personal information of another member -Posts with extremly poor grammar, poorly done threads, and duplicate posts -Obscene, vulgar, or offensive posts -Intentionally or unitentionally incorrect or misinformed topics and posts that have a high potential to lead to rumors or the distrubution of incorrect information that could have a large negative impact. -Threads or posts that "beat a dead horse", or that are spiraling downward, or lead to uneccesary debate or tension. -"Monday Morning Quarterbacking" where not appropriate to the topic at hand. -"Suggest Post Deletion" from multiple senior and active members of this forum -Requested post deletion from an officer of a department, or the member who started the thread -Advertisment topics or commercial posts (not authorized by the administration of this forum) -Political Topics (although we are considering opening a Politics ssection) -Posts that "highjack a thread -Posts that are pure banter -Plagurized material or photographs -Posts from those whose intention it is to incite conflict in the thread, stir the pot, or used for a personal agenda. -Posts containing confidential or sensitive information -Posts containg official departmental information without authorization from a chief officer. Violations are logged through a warning system, and repeated violations can lead to posting suspension. Our moderators will be more tolerant and will refrain from deleting posts unless absolutely neccasary. We will make our best effort to notify the member of the deletion, explain the reason why, and encourage the member to repost within the guidelines of the forum. We are deciding whether or not to open our "trash can" forum for a limited time, so that members can see some of the deleted posts, and hopefully understand why some posts are deleted. HOWEVER, we still reserve the right to delete any post, at any time, for any reason as part of the registration agreement. Also, there are things I cannot discuss with the general membership in regards to operation of this forum. We encourage you to contact us at any time with any question, concern, comment, or complaint via email at EMTBravo@EMTBravo.com. We will do our best to try and resolve any problem you have with the forum. -EMTBravo Network Webteam P.S. If you have time, please review Truck4's "Statement On Site Content" http://emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=5798 ****THIS IS A STATEMENT ONLY****
  8. I'm curious.....if you are not satisfied with the way this forum is run, why are you still here? If you can do it better then me, which I get the impression you think you can, then feel free. I have made some mistakes in some recent emails, and I apologize, but apparently my messages are being misinterpeted-by some. The other thread's replies were deleted, and the thread was locked, because people were trashing me using lies and rumors, no member really stood up or had my back, and honestly, it was depressing me. I'm going through an extremly tough time right now, and I don't need some ignorant, whiny malcontents bashing me, making up lies about the way this forum is run, and criticizing what they know nothing about. I want to feel good about running this board....I don't want it to stress me or cause me to get depressed. The FEW malcontents use these types of threads to bash me, and other members read it and get bad impressions, that are completly invalid. Rarely do I see threads from people who actually appreciate this forum and the hours upon hours of work that goes into it each day. Also, I don't need the taunts of "this is going to get deleted", or "I'm going to get banned". What is the use of that? Some people act so immature on this forum, and balancing all the personalities, conflicts, etc is extremly tough. All I'm trying to do is make the forum a constructive place, I have no alterior motive or agenda. Also, some people have such huge egos, they can't handle even the littlest critcism, or they have such a closed mind they can't listen to anyone elses views or opinions if it opposes theirs without them getting upset. Those are the main charecterstics of the malcontents on this forum I've noticed. Or, they can't or don't know how to stand up for themselves, or debate. Or, they just like causing trouble. Here are the forum rules: http://emtbravo.net/index.php?act=boardrules If your post gets deleted, because YOU decided to make a negative comment or involve yourself in a conflict with a administrator, moderator, or especially another members, and you fail to contact me with your concerns, THEN IT IS YOUR FAULT YOUR POSTS GET DELETED! I will work tommorow to address some of the concerns, lies, and rumors addressed in this thread. I ALWAYS HAVE and ALWAYS WILL communicate with the members!
  9. *Statement Only* We're curious to know something. As an Emergency Services COMMUNITY on this forum, if we do not discuss the problems we face together and work towards a solution together, then does the problem not exist? It seems, as administrators of this forum, that many, especially "leaders", don't want issues and other items, even simple stuff as new and upcoming deliveries, discussed on this forum. For some reasons, we can completly understand why. Others,we cannot and am disgusted by. How is it, that the Emergency Services Community as a majority, is so intolerant of any minor criticism or question about their agency or operations, even if it's completly innocent or curious in nature? As a provider of sevices people's lives depend on, shouldn't we look for any and every way to improve? To those "leaders" who have told or threatened their members about posting on here, shame on you. I agree about representation of an agency and divulging information inappropriately, and that should be accepted, but on a personal level, a person's experiences should not be stifled and their right (privledge) to post on this forum should not be threatened just because "the leader" is trying to hide a problem that needs to be resolved or is embarrased or is trying to cover up their inadequencies? Is the public kept in the dark like this as well? If you truly believe in your decisions and actions, then shouldn't you stand behind them? Most departments have an officer that's a member here that's quite capable of sharing lessons learned at an incident....why don't they? Do they not care about anyone else? To those who only browse (lurk) on the forums, whats keeping you from joining in on some discussions? We're tired of hearing "lurkers" complain....if you see something on this forum that is incorrect or inaccurate or you feel or know differently, there's no reason why you can't jump in and straighten things out. Complaining about the posts on here gets you and this forum nowhere, taking action and posting gets you somewhere and educates misinformed members. So, we're curious to know why so many here, despite vast knowledge and opinions, keep things to themselves, especially experiences and things we can all LEARN from. Our Verified Member program allows you to know the level of the person you're having a discussion with. There's so much to learn, yet so many shut out this forum as a way of doing such. We work hard to try and keep this forum free of the problems that plague other forums. We strive to not tolerate negativity or bashing, and work to promote constructive threads and posts. Holding back information that could be useful, or trying to stop people from using this forum to help resolve a problem, in our eyes, is selfish and inexusable. USE THIS FORUM AS A COMMUNICATIONS TOOL, THAT'S WHAT IT'S HERE FOR!!! If you have ANY problem with this forum or the way it is operated, feel free to contact us at EMTBravo@EMTBravo.com anytime TO LEARN HOW TO BECOME A VERIFIED MEMBER & BE ABLE TO POST, CLICK HERE -The EMTBravo Network Team
  10. Members- In case you weren't aware, The EMTBravo Group operates two other forums, similar to this one, The EMTBravo Network We encourage you to join either of these forums if you have an interest in the area, and also help us spread the word about them by telling anyone you know in the areas below about them by sending them the link and encouraging them to join and share information and knowlege We are continuing to build these forums, which is an incredibly difficult task starting from scratch, but we hope these forums will grow into what the EMTBravo Network has become for this area. http://www.emtbravonewengland.com Forums for the Emergency Services Community In New England (IzzyEng4, Deputy Admistrator) http://www.emtbravowest.com Forums for the Emergencys Services community in California, Nevada, and Arizona (RescueKujo, Deputy Administrator)
  11. We currently have 762 Verified Members. I thank and completly agree with Chris192's statement.....I wish more members, or "lurkers", would become Verified, and start posting. I know there's a million reasons that those who aren't verified have for not posting, but I don't buy any of them. There's a wealth of knowledge on this forum, and I wish more would share it. I know there are people that complain about the "BS" of this forum, but if you look at the big picture, there is some really great stuff that happens because of this forum....and I have be witness to a lot of it. Look for a Verified Member drive coming soon. 15. Let me make something clear. Hostile or negative posts will NOT be tolerated on this forum. This forum is here so that the regional Emergency Services personel have an online COMMUNITY to discuss issues, share ideas, make contacts, share information, and so much more. There is NO reason for egos, or hostility. Put them aside when logging on. There's no reason to make any thread into a battle or to flame other members, departments, or people. If that's what you're looking for, then find another forum. Threads will get heated, but members are reminded to be respectful to one another, even if they disagree. Our members come from different backgrounds, experiences, etc. There will be people who disagree with you...acknowledge that, and try to respond in a persuasive, respectful manner. Please keep all posts positive and constructive. One liners meant or with the impression it is to incite a conflict will not be tolerated, please make your posts of substance. Negativity or bashing of any person or department will not be tolerated, and can lead to revoking of posting privledges. Don't forget the "Suggest Post Deletion" button, our moderators can't keep up with every thread all the time. Due to that, we rely on our members to keep this forum, again, positive and constructive. Thanks for your cooperation. -EMTBravo EMTBravo@EMTBravo.com
  16. And that's because of the work of us that moderate this forum. I'm sorry if you're insulted, but is was sent as an email to all members, not just you. As Truck4 mentioned, there are posts and threads and other goings on that we deal with that are quickly removed that you don't see. There have been several recent incidents where members have been making hostile posts or attempting to incite a conflict. We do contact the member who makes the post, and usually we get an insulting, nasty message back. We occasionally send out a reminders like this one because it's hard and time consuming to seperate the good and the bad. We also do this to reiterate with the membership (in an inviting way) that we're not going tolerate activity such as that found on other forums. Verified Membership has cut down on these types of posts greatly, but there are still some. As we're constantly criticized by SOME, I'll continue to do what I think/feel is best to keep this forum going in the right direction, and regret (and find frusterating) that I can't please everyone all the time. It was a blanket email to ALL members.
  17. I'm going to give you all a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the The EMTBravo Group Headquarters And Operations Center in Hartsdale, NY. Only family and close friends have visited, so to many of you this is never before seen. I must note a couple of things in this photo. My diecast emergency vehicle collection repesented in this photo is about 25% of it. The rest is in storage. To the right of the photo are drawers that contain my photo equipment, and on top drawers that have my tools. On the printer rack, an all-in-one inkjet printer is in on order, mostly to be used for a copy machine. The HP inkjet will move to a slide out drawer on the bottom left of the desk, for color documents. As for the computer, I am running a Dell XPS 410 with dual digital Dell Ultrasharp 19" monitors. I have been mostly using my Dell laptop and Mac laptop lately from my temporary remote headquarters in my bed. Also, among the printers, is a HP Photosmart 8450 for photo printing, a Dell 1710 Laser, a Brother fax, and HP960C Color Inkjet. Here's a wide view of the EMTBravo/x635 Operations Center: [attachmentid=2307] This is the EMTBravoCentral.com Shipping Supplies Center. (Not pictured: The EMTBravo Group-EMTBravoCentral.com Warehouse and Fufillment Center): [attachmentid=2308] And a close up of the desk: [attachmentid=2309] Finally, this hutch for my existing desktop was custom built for me last week by Chris Creations, and delivered, stained, and installed by HFD23 (Thanks Guys!) Chris does AWESOME work, and he has done projects for "Extreme Home Makeover", working side by side with their famous woodworking staff, as well as multiple other cool projects. If you're interested in getting some custom woodworking done, contact me at x635@EMTBravo.com and I'll put you in touch with him: [attachmentid=2310]
  18. Members- Please be advised that all Weather advisories and threads about local/regional weather related incidents should be posted in the Incident Workshop section. Thanks
  19. First, there are a number of you that have purchased the EMTBravo items available on http://www.EMTBravoCentral.com. I'd like to thank you for you purchase and support. However, there are certain members, with each new release, purchase the item or multiple of the item, just to show support for the site as well as help me with hosting costs. So (and I apologize significantly if I omit anyone) I'd like to thank the members for their repetetive generosity that supports this site both financially and helps to get the site some publicity. Although I don't know what they are doing with their T-Shirts, they've gotten so many I hope they are enjoying them, giving them to others, and haven't found the ultimate rag to polish their cars with, lol. They've bought the flashlights and pens too. I will follow this up with a list of who these members are when I can.
  20. **I'm not looking for advice, or feedback, just to educate the membership and present some facts with the hopes of lifting shirt sales*** -The ads you see on EMTBravo.com DO NOT help with hosting costs, they pay for the better, upgraded computer and related hardware I had to buy to run this site. -Most of the money for hosting comes straight out of my pocket, and right now it's becoming an expense that's harder and harder for me to afford. It's assumed we make money from this site by some people, but we don't break even by any means much less make a profit. -Hosting the websites costs over $50 (we have a really good deal with great hosting companies), plus numerous hours of time and effort. -When we do have some extra cash, it's put right back into the sites- like the software upgrade of EMTBravoNewEngland. But still, some money ends up coming out of my pocket. -Donations are appreciated, and purchases at EMTBravoCentral.com are more so. -We're promoting this new t-shirt with no writing on the back, at a reasonable cost, (both based on member feedback) and even including a flashlight with EACH shirt purchased. So far, only one member has bought a shirt, and this member has continually financially contributed to this site- no one new. -The EMTBravo items and shirts also help promote the site, and hopefully bring in more people with information and knowledge to share. I know there's a stigma, but members should be proud to be part of this site. It has done and accomplished a lot in the Emergency Services community, maybe not visible to you, but as the adminstrator, I'm very proud.
  21. We now have an mailing address (snail mail) where you can send donations, or pay for a EMTBravo item on EMTBravoCentral.com via check or money order. If you'd like to order and item, email me EMTBravo@EMTBravo.com, I'll give you the address to send the payment to, and I'll put it aside for you. As soon as the check clears, I'll ship the item. Just be advised, this method is much slower, and you can pay with an E-Check without a PayPal account on EMTBravoCentral.com. Remember, anything that's purchased on EMTBravoCentral.com helps to pay for hosting and other costs associated with the website. The ads you see don't help with hosting costs, they pay for the better computer and related hardware I had to buy to run this site. Most of the money comes straight out of my pocket, and right now it's becoming an expense that's harder and harder for me to afford. http://www.emtbravocentral.com
  22. My Monday bump. Purchasing a shirt means a lot to me, especially right now where I need the funds that are coming primarily out of my pocket to run this site, and it's becoming harder and harder to afford it. (Advertisers I took on to help pay for a better computer to run the site) This site is free, and many people enjoy it. This shirt says nothing on the back. Also, when you wear it, you help to promote the site, maybe bringing in new members and more knowledge. The shirt is $12.99, plus you get a FREE Garrity LifeLite Flashlight with EACH shirt purchased. At Home Depot, these lights cost $4.00 or more. And, you help keep this site that you enjoy for free online. For those who prefer to pay by check or money order, email me for the address to send it to, and I'll put a shirt aside for you.
  23. As the official Grim Reaper of threads and posts, this thread is now officially dead. I'm sure I'll tick some people off. But, this is starting to distract from other threads, and I'd rather more affection be given to other threads.
  24.
