EMTBravo is currently run on a dedicated server. We have some unused space on our server, and to help subsidize costs, we are going to rent out some of the extra space. This offer is open to but not limited to: -Small organizations, clubs, associations, and civic groups -Small businesses -Personal photo sites -Non profit organizations Price, bandwith, features, and storage space are all very reasonable and very negotiable, and most importantly, goes to a good cause- keeping this site online. Members, As many of you know, this site relies on financial contributions from its members to stay alive, especially with the drought of advertisers we've been experiencing as of late. Members, I'm opening this thread so that members may ask legitmate questions regarding the forum and it's operation. I know there have been many misunderstadings that have insulted or turned off some members. So, I'm going to open this thread for members to ask about any questions regarding the EMTBravo sites, for either myself or the staff to answer. I know this forum is kind of intensive with everything that's going on, and a member may not understand why and how we do things- which we want the oppurtunity to clear up with factual information. PLEASE NOTE: This thread is not for giving input on how the site should be run, snide comments, debate about site operations, etc. It is purely for the asking of the question and getting a factual explanation from a staff member.

Members who post photos: Please resize your photos to a maximum of 800x600. .jpg files are preferred. Also, please reduce the filesize so that the photos load in an appropriate timeframe. If the above is disregarded, your photos may be deleted, as it causes technical issues with the forum and headaches for the staff who have to go and fix what the member disregarded to do. Members- Just some housekeeping notes: 1. Please keep you topic titles as descriptive as possible. Also, remember proper spelling and grammar in topic titles. This makes topics easier for all of us to browse. 2. PLEASE make sure you start your thread in the appropriate forum! Some EXAMPLES: Job openings would go in the "Employment" section. Photos of a fire in Poughkeepsie would go in the "Incident Photos" section. Discussion of an incident in Elmsford would go in the "Westchester County" section Talk about a new delivery to Garrison would go in the "Putnam County" section Discussion regarding a movie or sports, etc would go in "The Lounge" News or information regarding people and members of this site would go into "On The Homefront" Discussion about this site would go in the "Site News And Information" section. Members, I'm looking to bankrupt the EMTBravo.net Points Program ( http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?autocom=points ) Here's what I want to do with the Points Program: 1. Reward members for posting with "points". A more reasonable points award system, and not let members get a ridiculous amount of useless points. 2. Let members use the points towards something. Ideally, this would be NO-cost to the site, little effort, or sponsor-driven. My neglect of the program has left the points system completly out of control and useless. It is a fun tool for active members. I wanted to, when I started the program, collect points, turn them into cash, and donate to a "Charity Of The Month". However, I need every dollar I can get to keep this site running, so I can't afford that. So, please, let the ideas roll so we can begin (re)development of the Points System.... Thanks! -Seth

Actually, I had nothing to do with this. This incident was completly and professionally handled by our Director Of Member Relations, DOC22, and EMTBravo.net Deputy Administrator Of Forum Operations, jack10562. Great job guys! And vacguy, we appreciate your cooperation and respect in this. Also, special thanks to Jill for allowing her work to be showcased on our forum.

Incident Alert is for breaking and recent incidents. It's basically a log of what's going on. Numerous members have commented to me that they use the IA to find out what's going on while they're on vacation, etc. Also, there's many members scattered throughout the world who use the IA forum to keep in touch with what's going on in their hometown. You cannot post a reply to Incident Alerts, it is a one-post thread for logistical reasons. All discussion about the incident takes place in the specific local forum. Although we strive to have members post IA's as they happen, that's not always possible. Sometimes, the best IA's come from those who were on scene and return to file an IA when they are done, or are done with their shift. Incident Alerts are supposed to be for noteable incidents only, and Truck4 and the EMTBravo staff are constantly working to ensure that the IA's are they best they can be. We weed out a lot of the "non-incidents" that some members who aren't familiar with posting IA's post as soon as possible, and inform them as to why. -Seth G.
