Additionally, we don't agree with them posting names before all the family can be notified. We also feel that discussing the incident, speculation on what happened, etc, is not appropriate. Families may (and do) read this forum, and this is not the respectable way or time to discuss the details of the incident. Nor is it respectful to Tarrytown Firefighters at this sensitive time. However, due to the nature of the incident and lessons learned that can potentially save a firefighters life in the future, we ask you to hold off on discussion for a few weeks. Although some have criticized our policy, this policy was developed and honed over the 7 years of running this forum and previous situtions. Members, Several of you recently asked me to lift the ban on replying to photo threads. This was put into place after several photo threads went downhill based on members making incorrect assumptions based on photos. I agree with the members this was annnoying, inconvient, and killed many positive discussions. I consulted with a couple of EMTBravo's top photography advisors on this, and they agreed we should lift the ban for now and monitor what happens. With the above in mind, the ban has been lifted and YOU CAN NOW REPLY TO PHOTOS! However, there will be several rules and procedures in place. I will announce a formal ruleset shortly, but in the meantime, please follow these rules. There is special emphasis on incident photos. ***THIS IS A PHOTO GALLERY*** 1. Acknowledge the forum will be strictly monitored and moderated 2. Absolutely no criticism of the photographer whatsoever, with exception of discussion of tips on how to take better shots. 3. No irrelevant or off topic discussion 4. No "bashing" of any person, department, or incident. This includes question the need of something on an apparatus, calling out of incident or safety techniques, or just general negative comments. 5. All comments AND QUESTIONS must be positive, constructive, and respectful. If you want to start a discussion on the INCIDENT itself, please start a seperate thread in the appropriate local forum. To all those that post photos, and to the many more who view them. Effective immediately, when you post photos, it will allow you that one post to put your photos (as many as you want that are specific to that thread) in and then lock, so no one will be able to reply in the photo threads where the photos are (like the Incident Alerts). Therefore, our photo section will be more like a gallery which it is intended to be. Questions or discussion about the photos or what's featured in them can take place on of the forums that is for that issue. (Example: Westchester Fire photos/incident would be discussed in the Westchester section) And, the quickest way to find the newest photos is to view the photo portal on on our main site http://www.emtbravo.com Thanks! Members, For those with Blackberry's and Android phones, you should be able to , Now access the site on the go via your mobile browser. This will enable you to view all threads and post replies in a clean mobile interface. Please let me know via posting on this thread that the mobile interface is working Also, we have an iPhone app as mentioned in a previous thread..and we still hope to release specific apps for Blackberry and Android in the future.

Members, When tragedy strikes like an LODD or off-duty death, or our peers need our support for a 10-13 benefit or blood drive, or any other sort of event that helps members in need, we try to use this site get the information out there to as many people as possible quickly with integrity and respect. However, as of late, it seems the tri-state area has been hit hard by frequent misery and tragedy. I jus't can't keep up with everything that's been happening recently on the front page of this site. I'd like to find a way to properly honor everyone on the home page in a timely manner via an auto feed from this site.
