Tow Truck Mayhem! Hope that guy had Allstate to protect him from this guy:
-
Hey, I was just walking into the garage between the door and the back of the rig(wasn't going on the call) and just as the rig was pulling out, this guy came out of nowhere doining his turnouts to get on board and nearly plowed into me. Just goes to show you, as a firefighter, you should always keep your head up and stay alert!(LOL!)
-
Amen to that!

Sounded like a tough fire over the radios. It went to 7 alarms pretty quickly. First in companies were faced with heavy fire in a 3-brick w/exposure problems. Boston's bravest did one heck of a job, as did M/A from the surrounding communities. One of the initial Ladder Companies on scene pulled their crew off the roof right before it caved in. Also, the Rescue on the Box, Rescue 2, had to come clear across the city as Rescue 1 was on another call. Once again, great work BFD! Addresses for these jobs were: 66 Caryl Ave.(on the Bronx border) and 796 Bronx River Rd. A rundown for the 66 Caryl Ave. 2nd Alarm could look something like: Box Assignment: Engine 304, Engine 303, Engine 306, Engine 307 Ladder 74, Tower Ladder 71 Rescue 1 Battalion 1 10-29/10-30 Assignment: Engine 313(F.A.S.T.) Safety Battalion M.S.U. 2nd Alarm Assignment: Engine 309, Engine 312 Ladder 73 Battalion 2 However, I'm not sure. For the Bronx River Rd. job, if all units were available, could be: Box Assignment: Engine 313, Squad 11, Engine 307, Engine 312 Ladder 73, Tower Ladder 75 Rescue 1 Battalion 2 10-29/10-30 Assignment: Engine 310(F.A.S.T.)
