Don't take toms words to heart. He is making a very valid point. Never did he say that YOU or any specific person is not doing their best. You must admit, the volunteer system is not what it was 10 years ago. I have seen quite a downfall in my 11 years with the same vac. It may verywell be time for a change. Pride can no longer be an issue, we must recognize we have a job to do and we aren't always getting it done! (the word "we" is used as a general statement for volunteer agencies every where and should not be taken to mean any specific agency)

ME!! Thats one impressive looking rig!

With ya on that one Seth. That had to be quite an "oh crap" moment! Enjoy the west!!!!! I'll be here in Putnam where the worst I have to worrie about is my wife!

UPDATE: Christophers doctors have decided it best to move his surgery to the first week of january. This will allow him to be with his family for Christmas. Thanks everyone for your kind words and support!

No benefit at all! They are DEAD WEIGHT and only show up for the freebies. We have a few too. You find them everywhere. There are the few exceptions such as those who do the office type work and cleaning. Having 65% non riding is a bit nuts.

I have the WISER app on my black berry. Nice app to have. came in handy over the past few years. I also have a EMS drug guide. Gives names, generics and side effects for just about every drug and up dates every few days. Much easier than carrying the old note pads.

May he rest in peace. Condolences to the family and WFD.

Rest in Peace brother. I'll be keeping your family and the FDMV in my prayers.

You are absolutely right about that. The amazing thing is that it was much more than an hour! These guys spent the entire 5 hour party with Christopher!

Don't you mean #5 is alive? And lets not forget "sonny" from I Robot!

Only thing I can figure Seth is that EVERYONE needs to swallow their pride and LISTEN to what others say. This is not an easy task and if at all possible will take a great deal of time to do. In the mean time I am going to work on solving world hunger... Might be an easier task.

Well this vac apparently has some issues

New thread started for discussion... Sorry for the hijack Seth. http://www.emtbravo.net/index.php?showtopic=44191&view=getnewpost

Seeing as we have managed to hijack Seths origional thread I figured I would move the conversation here. Thank You.

I could have sworn the money paid for fuel, equipment and training... At least thats where it went when I was an officer. Why would you say that collecting tax money and billing insurance is greedy and unethical? What "member allowences" are you speaking of? What "pension" is my VAC paying me? Sorry if I seem to be digging into you but these are some pretty strong alligations and I respectfully ask that you clarify.

LOL I couldn't be that lucky cap.
-
WOW! Lucky guy! This could have been much worse. Anyone else remember the accident in Montrose a few years ago with the tree falling on the car and killing the driver? AMAZING the officer was not injured.

Might sound alittle soft but I love the few times a person tells you that you have made a difference. When I worked for a commercial company I would transport the same woman every week for wound care treatments. After she had passed my partner and I were called into the bosses office and handed a letter from the family thanking us for taking such good care of their mother. They went on to explain how when they visited her in the SNF she would tell them how much fun she had at her appointment laughting and joking with us, and that we had made her last days some of the best of her life. That is why I love this job. Great topic Seth! With all the negative we see it is great (and sometimes needed) to hear the positive.

Agreed. Always thought having the truck company on a pin was a plus. Ladders make a great road block.

http://www.nyc.gov/html/dcas/html/home/home.shtml Should be able to find some info there. I don't have an answer, but I'm sure if you called they would be able to help. Good luck! (and I'm sure you don't hear this enough but Thank You for your service.)

Yeah, saw that on facebook right after I asked you here. THAT'S GREAT! Who better to have it than Scotty? So good to see it coming back to Montrose after all these years! Can't wait to see it in person!
