I really like the fact that they only have the blue lights on the rear of the lightbar, this allows you to see which direction the trooper is facing from a great distance, which lets you move accordingly. It especially helps on the thruway when they pull someone over in the median, because it used to be hard to tell which direction they were facing, but now all you have to do is look for the blue, and then you know if you need to move over or not.

Get the Google toolbar, works great, blocks pop-ups, and doesn't infect your computer, and best of all it has a spell check feature. It automatically checks the spelling in all text fields on a page when you click it. This post was even checked with it

The hose truck (39-81) was moved to Station 2 back in August. While it was at Station 1 it only rolled on Structural Assignments and whenever else it was needed (Mutual Aid, etc.). It didn't really see much use. The hose truck was retrofitted to serve as an attack engine to replace the aging 39-19 at Station 2. SCBA's, Ladders, and all the other essentials for an engine were added. So now it serves as one of Station 2's engines. But not to worry it still carries the mile or so of 5" hose

So today I drove home from Rochester on the thruway, and I was doing about 80 im not going to lie, and I went under an overpass and looked up and saw a camera above me, then I saw several small lights that looked like flash bulbs. Are these traffic cameras or what????? Any one with any info let me know Thanks

There are still plenty of Camaro's out there, I drive from Rochester to Dutchess on the thruway about 10 times a year and I usually see a few. I know there is one left in troop K and there are several of them up here in Rochester that I always see sitting with the fleet at the regional HQ. I actually saw one go flying by me the other day while I was on the expressway up here.

Put aside the fact that in most area's nextel's service sucks. Nextel is finally coming out with a phone that is not 2 years behind the rest of the world . So, I got to see the new Velocity in person today. I took a bunch of pictures that I have to give to seth to post, but pictures do not do the truck justice The mirrors don't look all that bad, and they provide great coverage for blindspots. I was talking to one of the reps and he said that you can also get the truck with the tradition side mirrors. The truck was absolutely amazing, power everything, everything was LED. The roof had to be about 7 feet above the floor in the back of the cab. The truck was sitting right next to several other brand new Pierces and it absolutely blows them away when it comes to function. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that it did not have roll up doors, but its probably an option. Overall great truck even when put side by side with other Pierces

I saw one of these on the road in greenwich (what a suprise ) after the Concours d ' Elegance last june, that was quite a site, wish i hadn't wasted all of my film. Old news though SUPPOSIVELY shelby cars (no relation to carrol shelby) has developed a car capable of well over 270mph, but gotta see it to believe it

A few of the guys from my department up here in rochester went out there this morning, they might be sending more guys, but from what I have heard there are enough depts on the waiting list to go out there that they really don't need too many others but we shall see

We didn't cry over that one we got 4 more over the rest of the summer, o yea and they weren't in our own town either, o wait and our truck is 6 years older.
