I have a video of an Ohio DOT dumptruck and was wondering what type of LED Light it has on top of it? It appears to be a small beacon with a flash pattern that rotates like a halogen beacon would. Heres the link to my Flickr for the video --> . . . . Any help would be appreciated!

Where I live, which is pretty far away from everyone else on this forum, County 911 always tones out FD for all MVA's, whether its a Code 2 (MVA w/o injuries) or Code 4 (MVA w/ injuries). On Code 2's FD responds for traffic control without lights or sirens. On Code 4's EMS and FD respond. At my FD when we get paged out for a Code 2 we send our utility truck for TC and for a Code 4 we send a rescue (1st) and usually engine depending on how many people show up. Just a little info on how things go down here.

I saw on the news the other night (cant remember if it was CNN, MSNBC, FOX or what) that was talking about Organ Transplant Services and it showed what looked to be an FDNY EMS Organ Transplant Unit, is this correct or were my eyes playing tricks on me?

Just watched the newest episode of Rescue Me.. While pulling up to the fire in the apartment building I noticed that 62 Truck has chevrons.. Are you serious???? It seems like they are trying to not look like FDNY, I mean the Pierce Ladder is one thing, then the Chevy Suburban is another but now they have Chevrons on the rear of the truck?

But reguardless you have to park 15 feet away from the hydrant, so if someones driveway is in the way then you must go farther down the street.

Burlington Twp. South Plainfield, NJ? just recieved a 2010 Pierce Squrt.

Took a trip to Morgan Twp. VFD in Scioto County, Ohio to shoot their rigs and found this beauty! This 1974 Diamond Reo/Pierce Pumper was refurbed in 2003 by Pierce. It has a 1000 GPM Waterous pump, 2 stage pump with electric transfer valve and indicator lights and a Waterous relief valve and line gauges for all discharges and a 1000 gallon steel water tank. The trucks engine is a Detroit Diesel GM 6V71 engine, 218 HP @ 2100 RPM while the Transmission is 5 speed, with 2 speed rear axle. It is currenlty on loan to the Morgan Twp. VFD from Finley Fire Equipment while they wait to recieve their new tanker from Finley Fire. Morgans' old tanker was totalled when it was responding to a structure fire and rolled 3 times. More photos of the truck and Morgan Twp. VFD can be seen on my Flickr Page.

So this department is cross trained, but wasnt GSP handling the hoses? They arent cross trained are they?

Looking to see if a Twp. FD's tanker has went into production yet and while browsing I found this, My link . I played with it a bit, its interesting.

Pretty nice looking APC's, I had no clue ALF made these. I figured these would be older and not used anymore by the military but 2006-2009? Very new.. Does seem wierd, kinda like their making them for civilians to be able to purchase. Deffinatly would be perfect for a collecter who would want to have a past and present display of APC's.

Early this morning the tones sounded for a department in my County (Department A) to respond to the scen of a Garage Fire with gas and propane cylinders around the garage. After the address a member of Department A notified dispatch that the garage belonged to him and he wasnt home but en route to the Garage, he also wanted to have another FD (Department put on stand by. As a few minutes went by and the first Engine and Tanker from Department A went rolling out the Member who owned the Garage arrived on scene and notified it was fully involved and to start Department B with a Tanker. Then after another minute or so the same member came back on the radio stating dispatch to start another FD (Department C) also to this location, which was later canceled by a responding member of Department A stating they should wait until they are on scene to size up the problem. From what came cross my scanner the Garage was a Long 2 car garage with one bay door and enough room to park 2 cars front to back. Upon arrival of the first Engine from Department A all M/A cancelled and the fire was contained. Do you think the Vlunteer who owned the garage over reacted? Or was he simply calling for what he thought was needed.

I was thinking the same thing, plus I was thinking maybe he was getting to out of hand since it was his garage, calling for 3 Departments before an officer arrived on scene to size up the situation. -

Wasn't there a thread about this a few months back? Someone had pictures of the HID lights as well as the camparison between them and older headlights on another of thier engines while in house projecting their lights on the bay doors.
