Not knowing about the situation, If you wanted to dispatch and not go to 60..... Wouldn't it be cheaper to hire civilian dispatchers and train them? Seems to be a waste of a FF position when the departments are constantly runnning short on manpower. Maybe its time for Greenville, Fairview and Harstdale merge dispatch since you respond together all the time. My 2 cents

So here is my 2 cents worth, We have Open Houses, Volunteer Drives, a community holiday Party for the Kids and a Santa's wagon etc. every year. Most of the communities in Westchester believe they are protected by carreer or paid fire houses. One of the differences, "the Sirens". If they hear the siren, The community knows their volunteer fire department is responding to some emergency!

Every fire department should have a utility IMHO. These days there is so much going on in the fire service that does not require a engine, ladder or rescue. So if you can get a HD vehicle like this surplus. Why not? Great Job! thinking outside the box and saving tax payer $$$.
