  2. 1 career firefighter on the tower ladder 2 career firefighters on the first due engine The other 2 engines and the rescue are driven by the volunteers.

  4. Depends on their mood... One night yes, next night no. Eh atleast the train is still free.
  5. Good one... As far as our radios work, every member is issued one, they are fireground only but like you said can you turn to the correct channel in a pinch, well the radios we have,I had the company set them up so when you turn to our fireground you'll hear a loud low pitch tone. If you change the channel the radio will let you know your not on our fireground by another set of tones.
  6. Radio pocket for the fireground and a radio harness for the other radio.

  14. Not to take anything away from 656 but I think all the dispatchers at 60 Control are very professional on the radio, and they all work hard. I've delt with many on the radio and on the phone, and all do a great job. During the past storms they did an outstanding job. I think we should thank all the dispatchers for the job they do. God knows they've had to deal with me for over a year and that alone is a task.
  15. 1 engine response. 2 engine on I-95. 2 engines for HRP 1 engine will stand-by on the bridge. And the rescue will roll on pretty much everything.

  22. I have a question we just bought an inflatable boat 12ft 6inchs with a 9.9 horse power motor. We bought it after the 2 floods we had, maybe too late but never the less we have it now. My question is we have a number issued by the county Marine 35 but I thought marine units were always in the water or docked? Our boat would be trailered. We also bought dry suits and life vests along with rescue rope rated for water use. What I guess I'm asking is,is it a Marine unit really? My intention with the boat is for rescue in my response area and also if another department needed it of course we would be there. A number of my members have water rescue and we are also taking it again. Just looking for some input. Thanks [attachmentid=2873] [attachmentid=2874]
  23. There are a few that I know of.Horizontal ventilation,Forced ventilation which we don't do,negative pressure ventilation,Positive pressure ventilation and hydraulic ventilation( or fog pattern). I think there is one more Vertical ventilation which would be used in basement fires I believe but my memory could serve me wrong. Our department so far anyway have used fans pretty much like you,to extract the smoke from the structure using Negative pressure ventilation. Any kind of ventilation you need good fireground communication to make it work,But that would pretty much go for any operation on the fireground.
