I think it's a good idea... Something to think about or maybe bring up at the next DES meeting... Just a thought.
-
I agree go with the Galls Rescue tool... It really comes in handy.
-
Seth which camra do you prefer? I use the powershot sd500. Just curious.
-

-
No intention on seeing it...

Sounds like it was a good time...Just wish it was on a weekend. I would have liked to go and bring some of our trucks. But oh well ya can't win'em all I guess. Maybe next year they'll have it on a Sat. or Sun.

looks too nice to be a chief's car. I'd hate to see it with a sticker package and all those lights. Throw some nice wheels on it, tint the windows and call it a day.

Ok now I have to speak,And please don't erase this.Professional and respect? I think we were very professional first off. I personally had a "prepared statement for the press" They didn't air it. And as for uniforms sorry we didn't have them on but we all work for the DPW so we left work when the time was right and had to returned right afterwards. Also the chief had been delayed numerous times so weren't really sure when he was comming. I take offense to your statement I'm the asst. chief there and I commend all my guy's for a great job!!! As for little thing's over shadowing big thing's...No the whole story first before making such a negative statement. Asst. Chief Dino Del Signore Harrison Fire Dept.

Hello Everyone. My name is Dino, Asst. Chief(2163) Harrison Fire Department.
-
I have something to bring up,Just want to put my 2 cents in. Why do we and I say we because my department also says it which I'm trying to get away from. Anyway why do we say Nothing showing? Just because we don't see anything on the outside dosen't mean there isn't anything on the inside right? We had fire one night it came in as a poss. Structure fire I pulled up first and there was nothing showing, now if I said that I'm thinkin it might have slowed some people down thinking it was not a fire. Upon checkin further it turned out to be a working fire in the basement. So why do we say it? If you don't see anything from the outside dosen't mean anything untill you check out the inside. How do you feel ?
-
So your saying you think you should say nothing showing when pulling up to a house that was a reported poss structure fire? One more example we had a call about 3 years ago activated alarm units arrived called on location nothing showing. It's 3am my guess and it can't just be me that some of the men and women of my department were home listening to there scanners saying just a false alarm. Well we checked the exterior of the building and there was nothing untill the two second story windows blew out. It was a working fire just wasn't ready to say hi yet. My thing is don't say anything unless you know what you have!! Your on location that good and 60-control understands that, now check it out what do you have? Are you sure? if so then say it. Me personally Treat every alarm as if it was a fire.Always drive safe ,use caution but you never know what your in store for so be prepared.

I agree 100% Well said.
-
I thought so too.
-
Great idea!! I've been sayin that for years and thats what I use on the radio. If it's a fire in the basement it's not a "10-75" it's a fire in the basement.
-
My department has had a rash of chimney fires and have used up all our flares. Anyone have any ideas has to where to purchase more. I've been told they don't make them anymore. Any clues?
-
Harrison has 2161,2162,2163 are the chiefs. Then the Captain gets a car which is 2164. It works out pretty well.
-
I hate the snow. I guess I'll be plowing all night and day. Even though it's OT I still hate it. I work for the DPW in Harrison. Were ready to rock and roll, We'll some of us anyway. Stay safe.

Conrats to evreyone who passed. I failed 19 words a min with 2 errors. Man that's just too close, would have felt better if I failed BIG TIME
-
I just took the typing test and failed the first test, So I took it again but it didn't tell me if I passed of failed what does this mean? If it said failed the first time why didn't it say pass or fail the second time?
-
Our Depatment you need 5 years or more in the department. 100 hours of driver training all documented PUMP OPERATOR E.V.O.C. A.V.E.T. And a final test with a Chief driver, Chief of the department, Lt or Capt, and one or more other drivers. You must also pump to our ladder and everyone of our engines.

I'm not 100% on this but I also had an HT1250 and I believe there is a setting for high power and low power for transmitting The high power setting will use up the battery faster. Check your settings on the radio. Other then that you might have a bad battery. What type of battery are you using? Lith-Ion or Nickel? One more thing some batteries have memory in them so if you keep charging a battery that is not fully dead it will never fully charge,It's good to let the battery die fully then charge If all else fails call your dealer or Motorola 1-800-826-1913
