I'll try to found out some info...But I have a feeling that tiller was a little before my time. When I joined we had a tiller but it was nothing like that one.I'll do my best. I just found out the tiller that was here when I joined was a 1964 and we got it brand new so this one is goin back.I'll keep workin on it.

[attachmentid=1800]HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL...

You know what I don't understand I was at the DES meeting last night and they brought up taking pictures at fire scenes. It was interesting some were saying how if your taking pictures you can get in trouble. You can end up in court because if the insurance compnay's ask around the fire scene to see if anyone knows if anyone was taking pictures and your pointed out you could be dragged into court for your photo's. It was also mentioned to try and minimize picture taking at your fire scene. Has anyone heard of anyone ever getting dragged into court because of pictures they took.Or has anyone ever been contacted by insurance companys for the same reason. I mean alot of people take pictures whats so wrong? I even heard a lady yelling at this guy yesterday at the greenville fire for taking pictures, she kept telling the guy it's wrong and he should be ashamed. Why? it's on the news all day and night. But on the 10:00 o'clock news you see worse things then a fire. One more thing if someone is taking pictures let's say at your fire scene you can always ask for a copy and you'll see things you couldn't see before. It's like a learning tool I think, learn from the photo's you might want to change some things,or not.

Tell me about it we just did that also... How fun was it for you?
-
Most of the time the second due engine will drop 5 inch at the first due engine and bring the fire to the water. to keep the second due engine out of the way. But then again like you said it all depends on the situation.

First off my responses were for both sides... And both sides are too blame for the tension so if you did blame the other side I would have a problem. I have many friends who are in the career side of the fire service. So I wish not to fight with you because then we are only going to be part of the problem. Have a happy and safe holiday. Dino

Well that's going to be pretty hard to top... I joined the explorer post when I was 13 joined the department in 93. Took just about every class offered(my girlfriend was not too happy about that I was never around) Also an EMT. I am on the county Haz-Mat team. Was 1st LT. for a year 2nd LT. for a year and Capt. for 2 years.2nd asst.chief for 2006 and going to be 2nd asst. chief for 2007 also.Graduated from Harrison High School. I work for the Harrison DPW Parks dept. Been with the town for 10 years now. Was in the Highway dept. for 9 years untill I transfered. I think that's about it.

Portchester has a rolloff?
-
Seth check your E-mail
-
Wow can you explain why you think such??
-
You think so? did you read all the post's?
-
I wonder how many people would admit that one... Our board of fire commissioners are pretty hard on us so we have to keep up with training which is not a bad thing.
-
That's pretty funny.
-
I couldn't agree more...
-
I know something is wrong Seth I just feel like it never gets any better. I wish I had the ultimate cure for all this but I don't. I agree with alot that is being said but then again I disagree with alot also. We should be held to the same standards your right. And as for figuring out how? I'm with you there,How and where do we start. And BROTHERHOOD yes it does mean for me and I'm sure for alot of others looking out for eachother, taking care of eachother.
-
I really can't believe all this back and forth... What happened to BROTHERHOOD!! Get over it I know career guy's that don't even know how to pump water and haven't been training since they got out of school 15 years ago... And on the same note I know some volunteers that don't even know how to put an SCBA on let alone turn it on that have gone to FF1. So just train train train,go to classes and drill alot!! Bottom line paid guy's are here and volunteers are here, And hate it or love all of us have to work together. If my house caught fire I could really care less if it was paid dept, volunteer dept, combo dept whatever as long as they know what there doing. This could on forever and will... So I'm done. It upsets me to see this. I wish everyone of a HAPPY AND SAFE HOLIDAY BE SAFE BROTHERS.

As for my department you need certain classes to become 1st and 2nd LT. Then more classes to become Capt. For the 1st 2nd and head chiefs spot you need to take even more classes. I'm not sure of the total but heres a quick run down. firefighter essentials(firefighter1) commanding the initial response Haz-Mat first responder pump ops fire behavior&arson awarness building contruction truck company ops(laddder ops) AVET EVOC intro to fire officer fire officer1 firefighter survival responding to gas emergencies And now everyone needs NIMS. I think that's it.
-
who really cares? What's all the fuss? Your a paid firefighter good for you,be safe. Your a volunteer firefighter good for you,be safe. Point is both LOVE what they do. Take pride in it no matter paid or volunteer... WORK TOGETHER WIN TOGETHER!!! nuff said.

The best is when the guy asks"we got a hydrant?"
-
I have the cannon rebel XT and I love it. It has a manual setting for that "old fashion way",which I like also, comes in handy sometimes, otherwise put it on automatic and your good to go. I had to go and buy the flash and a bigger lens for those nice up close shots. Let me know what you end up deciding,my girlfriends parents own and run a camra shop.
-
Thats Bullsh%& how do they get away with that? They blame the firefighters and police...C'mon now. That really got me going
