According to Facebook it is the 6th, I doubt they would do it on a Wednesday.
-
This is nothing new. Katonah's ladder can kneel the back end.
-
Another issue is the housing market in areas where they join. They join as younger members still living at home, go off to college and graduate. Now they come home get a job but are unable to afford or find a suitable home in the town or even nearby to make it for calls.
-
Because they'd be ridiculed by people on this site for not calling a closer department that has the capabilities.
-
Huntington VFD in Arkansas. The same department that bought 117s twin, the old 115.
-
Not true. Their fast was called on the 10-75 and they utilize the tower ladder as their fast truck.
-
You could also argue why Mount Kisco was 1st called as a relocate engine skipping over Bedford and others.
-
It's been Wednesday forever. It is also the start of the carnival which runs 4 days and finishes Saturday night.

Everyone in this topic has said they would do it their way which is absolutely fine. None of you were the IC, and we've heard from members on scene even one in charge of operations, the IC did it how he thought he should run it. That's that. You guys didn't get the answers your looking for and have now jumped on the consolidation argument hoping that will work. I believe it was posted earlier in the topic, this is for discussion about the fire incident itself not consolidation. Feel free to make another topic about that so that can fade away like all the other consolidation topics. Like I said the pettiness and the unhappy with the answers you're getting is the reason this website has died.
-
And this topic goes to show why this website has gone down the tubes.
-
County PD doesn't have a dive team. They used to.

Great job and thanks for taking the photos!! Out of curiosity I was told you should try to be 10' away from wires with aerials? Obviously there is inherent risk when dealing with wires. *Not trying to make anything of this by any means just strictly a curiosity/learning question.*

Well A) it's not my job to prove it to anyone. B ) why can't he prove that they've said no and are not helping agencies? I think making an assumption that they are doing that and him saying it's because they haven't heard them on local pd frequencies is not valid.
-
I know for a fact that they do all the time, just because you do not hear them doesn't mean they aren't helping agencies. It seems like you are you basing this statement solely because you do not hear them on your scanner?

What is the optimal mounting for hurst tools? I've seen them mounted in compartments on the driver's side, the passenger's side, the rear, these depend on how the truck is positioned safety wise and then the downside of having to bring the tools around the other side of the truck (then you lose length). Someone mentioned something earlier about a compartment that you can pull from either side. I've never seen this done with hurst tools. Does anyone have a picture of that?

Well the Bedford automatic response has been in place for many years and is not recent. It depends on where the call is in their district and brings tankers and a ladder due to the lack of hydrants and that the fire house restricts what pieces of apparatus they can have. So it makes sense to request those trucks because if they could have them they would. So the response isn't a full department response as you leave it open to be. I don't know anything about the others so I cannot comment on south salem and vista or the goldens bridge and croton falls situations. What is your input regarding your fire department's purpose for having Croton Falls on automatic response to every fire call? Is it manpower problems, apparatus problems or money problems, etc?
-
Neither, they get NYSP, then it gets forwarded to either. It's never been consistent.
-
Yeah the date and who the commissioner is! It seems like an old list to me, not one they didn't change the date on. Maybe if you paid attention you would've noticed that instead of "not trying to argue"
-
Where would one get the list of requirements for a Fire Chief/IC?
-
According to the article though it says they will only be dispatched by WCPD, It says nothing about the County PD sending their cars. It's just WCPD dispatching Tuckahoe cars, the town saves their local officers and the "beat cop".
-
I know people that got 85s and are in the 200s
-
Do you have data to back up your statement that cops write tons of speeding tickets but ignore other things that are just as dangerous?
-
Why do they need special dispatchers for that? Every other FD has trucks go into/out of service and parades and 60 doesn't make those announcements for them.
-
I saw a FF coming out of the house with a meter on News 12, wearing scba and on air but was only wearing turnout pants and no other ppe. So it seems like after the Rye officers rescued the occupants and all were transported it then became a routine call, with venting and re-checking of CO levels. Good job all involved

Well if they took hose off the above engine wouldn't that make it this 1/2 the hose bed scenario like you said in your first post? In your opinion what do you think is the proper amount of LDH for an Engine to carry?
