All 3 buildings evacuated and rpts of a gas odor in the area. No injuries. ESU req. WCPD Bomb Squad for explosives set to detonate. After buildings secured the blasting was completed.   10. Well worth the trip ! The collection up there is unreal. I go at least once or twice a year and always see something new. There are some real classic firehouses in the city of Hudson as well. 2 of their fire companies are the 1st & 2nd longest continuously active volunteer fire companies in all of New York. They just built a Super Firehouse to eliminate some of the old ones from the 1800's, which are now for sale for aprox $400,000 a piece. Brian Duddy / Central Nyack F.D.

Date: 4-23-06 Time: 0045 HRS Location: New York State Thruway Frequency: 46.180 Units Operating: Monsey FD Description Of Incident: Tallman Firefighter Killed in MVA Writer: Brian Duddy From The Rockland Journal News: A 30-year-old Tallman firefighter was killed early this morning following a one-car accident on the northbound side of the New York State Thruway near the Airmont exit, state police in Tarrytown said. A Ford Expedition driven by Christopher Vass of Monsey apparently skidded because of wet road conditions and rolled over. He was pronounced dead at 3:30 a.m. at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern. Two of the seven other passengers had minor injuries and were treated at the hospital. They were returning from the department's annual dinner, fire officials said. Funeral arrangements are pending

  22. Here are a few shots from a fire in Thiells, NY on April 11th. The fire was at 2 Kohut Street and was caused by contractors that were doing work to the house from a previous fire in December, 2005. The homeowner was not home at the time of the and was extremely upset when he came home from work to find his house had caught fire for a 2nd time in less then 6 months. Mutual Aid was called from Hillcrest for a F.A.S.T. Team & West Haverstraw for an Engine to the scene. Stony Point & New City F.D.'s were covering Thiells during the fire.   23. The New Jersey Metro Fire Photographers Association will be having their annual FDNY bus trip Sunday April 30th, 2006. Tickets are still available and are $35.00, which also includes lunch, and hopefully a fire or two. I believe we are concentrating on visiting firehouses in Brooklyn & Queens this year.
