Dude, nothing surprises me with the Journal News. I have been a freelance photographer with them for 7-8 years now and when they took the best Photography Boss, Robert Rodriguez, and transferred him to Westchester, everything went down hill for me. They haven't used 1 of my photos for the newspaper in 2 years now. I can't tell you how many times I saved their butts over the years by bringing in photographs of Breaking News events in Rockland, that they didn't even know about. Even when I was unable to go and photograph something, I would always call them and give them the heads up of a Breaking News story. What really aggrivated the hell out of me was when I talked to them about my planned proposal to my now fiance during my County parade in 2005, and they were all on board. Only problem is that they refuse to give me copies of the photos they took ! I can understand if I was some Joe Shmoe off the street, but I received a W2 from them on a yearly basis for many years. If I had thought that they weren't going to give me copies of my engagement photos, I would have asked some fellow member of my Photography club to come and shoot my engagement. It's unreal that I almost have nothing to show for such a beautiful part of my life. Big Thanks JN !

No, it's a 6 man cab, same as our rescue. Our Tanker was a 10 man cab, but we took 2 of the rear seats out, found that is was too tight with 10. Most times we roll with 6 guys anyway.

On the officers side we pre-mounted a brand new thermal imaging camera and they also want to put an officers tool in that compartment. On the other side the are mounting a hydrant & spanner wrench combo for the driver. And yes it's 2000 GPM & 750 Tank.

With all the gauges on the pump panel they thought the stainless would be harder to clean and with the black it would be easier to see. Not sure what they call it, but it is rough to touch, almost like the bed of a pick-up truck.

OK here are 2 quick photos of Rye's new Engine. They obviously wouldn't pull it out of the bay due to all the equipment that you can see on the front of the truck that needs to be mounted. I am sure someone from Rye will get some better shots when it is outside.

OK guys, here are a few photos of the new Seagrave [low profile FDNY style]. Committee is fighting wether to call is 2-1500 [which it is replacing] or 2-2000. Notice the GOLD Seagrave logo which all the 125th Anniversary Seagrave are being outfitted with. Even the wording on the mudflaps is GOLD. Thought that was pretty cool. Anyway, is will be at the dealer for tools to be mounted then it will be lettered and striped. Will keep everyone updated !

The Blauvelt Coach Diner on Route 303 used to be the best, but just isn't what it used to be. I go to the Nanuet Diner on Route 59 across from the Nanuet Mall now. The New City Diner on Route 304 in Bardonia was good when it 1st opened, but their prices are way to high now.

Surprised no firehouses in Westchester would be willing to host a small gathering so we didn't have to rent a hall. If you guys want to come across the TZ to Central Nyack, I can set it up.

Great Idea ! Count me in ! If anyone has a projector for a laptop, I would be willing to put on my 2006 NJMFPA slide show, it's about 12 minutes long and done to music.

Thanks ! In Wayne we have 5 Volunteer Fire Companies. On a reported fire you get 3 of the 5 and on a confirmed fire you get a FAST Team from a 4th company. So from Company 1, Engine 1-1 was 1st due, but arrived behind Company 4's 1st due, Truck-4.

Truck-4 puts their stick in operation to knock down the heavy fire Engine 1-1 pumping Initial attack line being pulled out for Truck-4 to go back in service Truck-4's stick & a 2nd hand line in operation Still some pockets of fire in the rear bedroom A final view from the hydrant Videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4vVvmjkW-8
