I'd just like to know what people think about the new Aerials and Rescues New York just recieved ? I'd also like to know what you think about the problems they are having being engines, body, ladders etc. ? Do you think they should have picked some other manufacturers ?

Sfrd18 you are right about White Plains we are 3 & 1 with Rescue 88 and the chief. When upgraded we add another Engine & Ladder and then call in Mutual for a Engine & Ladder to cover.

Sucks because there very nice trucks and good design but these problems are just horrible for the price they paid and experience they've had with Ferrara you would expect better outcome. Having engine problems making to sharp of turns, leaking roofs, slow aerials, SLOW TRUCKS really thats outrageous dont u think ?!?!?!?!

Thoughts on this situation i'd like to know what you guys think on what was said and do you back his statement? Also do you think budget cuts were at fault or was it just a fast moving fire?

In one of the videos I saw R5 was sitting outside and they said they have had engine trouble when making sharp turns and the roof leaks. I Know that there new rigs and they'll have problems but cant you prevent a roof leak unless the A/C has some problems.

Hey guys and girls I just have a question for all as we know the economy is bad and that lay off's are taking place which is very sad but my question is why does it seem like it's always the Fire Department getting targeted for lay off's and closure's. Now im not saying anyone should be laid off but I never hear anything in the news about police getting laid off or losing there jobs up here I have heard about it across the country. Is it that staffing rigs, equipment, and keeping trucks in service the problem ? I'd just like to know why it's always the Fire Deparment getting hit and not usually police .... and as I said I dont want anyone Police, Fire, or EMS to lose their jobs because we need them and there very valuable to us. HI,I'd just like to know I read the news feed on the pierce website and it said they were gettin 125 foot rear mount aerials. I was just wondering pierce doesnt make 125' foot aerials so where will they be getting the ladders from ? Is the 125' foot ladder something new pierce is coming out with for 2011 ? It's horrible to see what this world is coming to that we have to lay off firefighters, police, etc. . They are a big part of the world we cant afford to lose them. Sooner rather than later there's gonna be no fire, police an the citizens are going to have to fend for themselves.

Is the lower the ISO rating like 1-2-3 good or is it bad?

To bad Pierce won't spec to the FDNY's requirments because I really like Pierce an I think they would look good in the FDNY as you can take an example from the Pierce Arrow XT used in "Rescue ME."

This is the first time I have seen a Pierce Arrow XT that didnt have an air coinditioning unit on top of the truck.
