I always wanted to be a bottle of Miss Butterworth's syrup! LOL

I agree with what you're saying, this can be a learning experience. I just think that if something like this is posted on a site that all lettering and numbering should be blurred out or covered. You still have to respect the department...

Awesome rigs, good luck with them FDMV!!

Is BHFD keeping the old 199 as a spare or are they selling it?
-
As long as everyone made it out ok, that's the important thing. Fire apparatus can be replaced.
-
Well put!

Here's the link I found. I believe this is the current ladder Hartsdale FD is operating with. http://www.10-75.net/apparatus/ny/westchestercnty/hartsdale/t49.htm

The second tone out was for an additional rig from croton ems to respond. The first ambulance was blocked in by apparatus so the IC made the quick decision to get a second rig (driver only) to respond. They had a sufficient amount of EMT's already on scene.

May 4th & 5th, 2011 0800-1600hrs Sorry, I don't know the cost.
-
Let's face the facts folks, each manufacturer will have their pros and cons. What it comes down to is whether the rig is suitable for your district and gets the job done. Opinions will vary based on styles, looks, and performance on many rigs. Remember, there's no such thing as a "perfect" rig, every manufacturer will eventually have their flaws sooner or later.

No, since 9/11 the fire brigade changed its procedures about who can and cannot be on the brigade. You quoted me about what I said about my father, he used to work in the security department but wasn't a guard during the time he severed on the brigade. Sorry if I confused anyone with that initial post.

just to clarify, Indian Point is in Buchanan but Verplanck FD is first due to the plant.

Here's a picture of Verplanck FD's Tower Ladder 46, a 2002 E ONE Bronto F100 rescue platform. To my knowledge this is currently the only "articulating platform" in Westchester County.

Here's a link to the rescue courtesy of fdnytrucks.com http://fdnytrucks.com/files/html/specialunits.htm

Same, I received my info yesterday as well.

To answer your questions Yes, it was mainly an interior attack. The first line was brought into the house and up to the attic, knocking down the main body of fire. A second line was stretched (not sure if it was used) to the side of the home for any extension on the exterior of the house.
-
The main body of fire was in the attic with minimal extension to the exterior of the home. It wasn't a deck fire. Good Stop MFD

Just to clarify kenny, Peekskill's Fast also has lower washington street to the Watch Hill Road intersection. After that it's Mohegan.
-
To answer some of your questions: 1. Watch hill road is in the Town of Cortlandt and runs through both Montrose and Mohegan fire districts. 2. Opinions differ on this one, so I'll stay out of it. 3. If a FAST team can't assemble a Crew within a certain timeframe, then yes the next closest team should be toned out. 4. Good question! That's up to the incident command however on whether or not they need them. 5. In this case, Mohegan was closer. I don't know which rig mohegan brought but their furnance woods station (Station 3 on Croton Ave.) was closer then peekskill Hope this helps...

The MDU 6 trailer is currently at Montrose FD. Montrose, along with Buchanan and Verplanck FD's have trained with the decon equipment in the past.

They're growing on me! I really like the modeling on the doors, it gives the new chargers a more fierce look to them.
