Montrose purchased an '09 KME predator rescue pumper not too long ago. I've had the opportunity to drive the rig on a few calls and the overall handling is pretty good. We're pretty pleased with this rig so far. It would be interesting to see if in fact, the FDNY awarded the bid to KME and how the rigs would hold up in the city. http://www.montrosef.../engine_121.php

Usually, when Marine 21 was requested MA-28 towed the boat from the firehouse. I assume Engine 224 will be doing the same with the new vessel.

Apparently, there's a 3-alarm brush fire going on near Metlife stadium in the Meadowlands.

Also there's a large ongoing brush fire in Milford, Connecticut. There was reports of condo complex being threatened by the fire, unsure if the complex still is at this time. In addition, the new haven lines, I-95, and Route 1 are shutdown. So, if you know people traveling in the area tell them to stay away! Mutual Aid depts. to Milford include: Stratford FD Bridgeport FD West Shore FD West Haven FD (central district) Metro North Fire Brigade

Montrose VA just received their new engine today.

Situational awareness, know your surroundings. Someone should remind this guy that he lives in the northeast and it tends to be cold in february...

Depending on the location of the fire in Montrose's district, determines which FAST team is called on a 10-75 assignment. Usually, anything in the north end of the district is Peekskill, to the south Croton, and anything in the east side is Mohegan. In regards to Buchanan and Verplanck, I know Verplanck has Peekskill as a FAST but Buchanan 1st alarm assignment had Croton's FAST and Montrose VAFD RIT team respond. That alarm assignment could've changed by now, I'm not 100% sure.

In addition, Montrose and Montrose VAFD run dual response to the NYS Veterans Home.

There was an upgrade done on our local radio tower. After the upgrade was complete, it was realized that old tones had too high of a frequency to trip the pagers. To compensate for this, our department received new tones that have a lower frequency.

Just to add, if you're looking for the Montrose fire tones, the ones provided by the site are the old tones. A little while back, Montrose was assigned a completely new set of fire and officer tones.
