  1. Some who have an obvious agenda was in reply to the 1st two pages blasting Stiloski's, but this is typical here. It was not directed at the moderators. I am in full support of anyone who has, or is willing to train with rescue professionals and has the capabilities of assisting with millions of dollars worth or equipment that professionals in the rescue field can utilize. Cant wait to see the Yonkers HAZ-MAT team next year.
  2. That WC Police car is hideous and since when does the county have money to repaint an entire fleet of vehicles in these times. Great showing by Yonkers fire they really have a lot of stuff. Very impressive show of force and utilization of training. As far as the tow trucks who cares about the lights, both big tow trucks said heavy rescue on the booms Vincents and Stiloski's. Some have an obvious agenda here. The capabilities are on display and millions that have been invested in training and equipment and readily available for deployment 24/7. Every tow company in Westchester and Rockland that is successful works very close with police and fire departments providing equipment, cars for training and other services usually free of charge, most only bill insurance companies especially if requested for a rescue type situation no matter what company. Great job by the comittee a nice day for all agencies to get together and see actual resources available.
  3. I heard the truck will be staffed by one sergeant and 2 senior esu cops and will be ready to go on anything they decide to roll on 24/7. I heard its designation will be Truck city. I also heard it has a ton of rescue equipment and not much tactical stuff at all. Concrete breakers, boat, stanley system, torches, search camera's, air shore, rescue jacks, etc and some of the officers just completed training with NYC ESU FEMA task force as well as 2 K-9's. I also heard they are getting divers 2 new boats and another big rescue truck for that stuff. Unconfirmed is that some are in bomb technician school in Alabama with WCPD bomb squad.
  4. 91 COPS Laid off isn't too safe either. I am sure they are looking at demotions as well. Hopefully this is just scare tactics, stay safe brothers.
  5. Who cares what YFD thinks about it. That is a loaded question. One agency has nothing to do with another. Both agencies provide different services with only a few services duplicated and seem to work well together. As far a SPD stealing extrications? It is about providing public service and as long as the proper training and equipment is utilized, may the first unit who arrives, have at it. It will probably carry equipment and have nothing to do with extrications. In this day and age it is better to have more than less especially if a large scale incident occurs. Our town is small and the pd has nothing. They rely on Vol FD for everything. Good luck to Yonkers PD it looks like a sweet rig, can someone post some pics or spec's from YPD?
  6. I have seen two tow trucks pick these trailers up from the front and back and simply flip it upright right where it stands. Ohare does it all the time with only 2 lanes blocked. Doing it with the method used in the picture there is no tag or safety line in place to stop it from coming right over too far or violently uprighting and rupturing something possibly causing further dameage or a hazmat spill. SAFETY FIRST and keeping the incident as small as possibly. Just my 2 Cents.
  7. Why did they have to shut down the opposite 2 lanes for a simple upright of a truck? Seems unprofessional to me and a little bit of an outdated technique. Glenns should get a bigger truck. Like the red one on the site here. Nice excavator
