Did they check to see if the patient had taken asprin before they got to the hospital, or if they were given asprin by the EMT/Medic enroute to the hospital?

In yorktown, we have the YCCC building which is the old 6th grade school. -Balloon Construction - Arch Truss roofing in the Auiditorium with a "semi-new" A/C unit that would bring hell when it comes crashing down 3 stories -Ancient electrical system and wiring that could not possibly be up to code - The entire auditorium is basically a death trap for lost firefighter - orchasrta pit with no railing leading to a 4-5 foot drop - stage drop of 3-4 feet - electrical junctions - stage props The list could go on, but you get the idea.

wow its 1900 and no ones said happy 4th yet, so ill be the first..... HAPPY FOURTH of JULY everyone. be safe and remeber what the 4th is really about, not the neighborhood cookouts and the firehouse parties, but our independence!

judging isnt done solely on the technical aspect of the engine, truck, ect. Its done also with the work put in to make the apparatus look nice. Washing, waxing, tire cleaning, the list could go on forever. My department is far from a "parade department," but we all enjoy cleaning up the apparatus and showing them off to the public. In the end its feel nice to know that your time and effort that you put into making the apparatus look extreamly nice is rewarded.

THe people in charge of making the payroll cut desicion for the NYPD
-
I have a summer job working a 40 hr wk., and make just as much money as they will be. I dont have apartment payments, car payments, and insurance to worry about, yet i still make just barely enough to pay for my gas for my car to drive to and from work and the occational fire call now, and to go to the pool hall or bowling alley with my friends every now and then. Who ever made the desicion needs to take a look at what they have done and revoke it immediatly. The people protecting us should be the ones makeing millions of dollars, not some dumb b-movie actress aka Paris Hilton

I heard that the NYS fire investigator was suppoesed to be down in yorktown to i guess confirm, if you will, it as a LODD. Dont hold me to it though.

I like the truck, saw it durring stand-by durring the fire the other day, great layout and equipment on board...have to say though, dark maroon is not my favorite color on fire trucks (dont worry, i dont like lime yellow either).

YVAC relocated an ambulance to peekskill one night when they were hammered with calls

Its just a way to get the public to think that volunteers are worse ff/emts then paid guys. It makes me sick.

Idiot, way to make it seem even more that were all a bunch of pyros. Lock him up till he rots.

im having trouble understanding, was it junior members who took the truck out for a joy-ride, or young senior members?
-

another reason why dogs are better lol

I dont mean to be negative but just trying to understand better, but how is it efficent and practical to put items on top of the rescue such as your ems equipment, backboards and ropes, insted of the side compartments? I agree the Speedy-dry hopper is an excellent inovation and should be implented on all new rescues, but i dont understand why you would want things put up on a roof? :-k Someone correct me if im wrong, but is there no railing or safety rope on the top of the rescue to prevent someone from falling? All its going to take is one member whos in a rush to trip over him/her self and fall off the truck or the back of the stairs!
