You are correct good sir in all aspects. Yorktowns current ladder is a 1968 100' Seagrave. Passes all of its inspection tests still with flying colors. Unfortunatly all good things must come to an end and it is being replaced. Here is what we are receiving.

I think affermative action in the FD or anything else is abusrd. Why should someone get a job based on skin color or ethnic backround? It should all be based off the test scores and physical ability and nothing else. I could rant for hours but im not.

your going to have to download the windows media player codex. Do a google search for that and download the one with all the bells and whistles. It should be free and you wont find them on microsofts website, and its legal.

This might sound bad on my dept part, and I dont want to start a "if you dont have the man power go paid" feud, but there has been one or two times that I have handled a minor call on my own. No apparatus hit the street, and no chiefs were at the scene. It was just me and one other firefighter and we did fine. Got on the phone with 60-Control and let them know what the deal was. I think if it came down to it with a major incident, the exact same would have happened and the appropriate steps would be taken to get the required manpower out to the scene.

Season 2 so far is awesome. Hate to burst your bubble though, but those helmet cam shots are all reinactments. It would be alot more smokey and almost impossible to see anything on film, hence why we have created the TIC (thermal imaging camera). Anyways, aside from that, I really like the show.

maybe he was "seizing" and the emts mistaked it for rigor mortis? When i had my "seizure" (doctors still dont know what it was), my entire body went tight and i was out cold. My dad said that mu muscles were so stiff that they couldnt even move my arms or legs at all. Maybe thats what the EMT's experienced? I dunno, just trying to justify the misdiagnosis.

im not sure about the ego trip, but i agree with your other statements. Since i joined a couple of years ago, seems like there has been a dramatic restriction on our freedom of speech, which i think many can agree with is not a good thing. Im all for the spelling and gramatical error things, even though im sure most of my posts are filled with errors, as well as restricting members who are not accosiated with a dept. Sure the paid vs. volly got old after a while same with blue light scandles and consperacies, but maybe there should be a section of the forum where people should enter with a thick skin, grit and bear it, and take some monday morning quaterbacking from some old tymers or more experianced members.
