i think the "Discussions Going On Right Now In The Forums" part of the page is broken. Theres new topics in the forum, and its the same old ones on the outside.
-
I thought the same exact thing, so i asked the guy who posted it in another forum. He said it was a 2nd due engine to a working multi-story building fire and they were going to get put to work right away. Ill have to look again to see if the regulator is on, but i dont belive it is.

hmmmm...awesome idea, i hope its possible (crossing my fingers wishing and hopeing)

Every monday night drill is "mandatory." Once a month however it is not hands on, but strictly a mantience night where the details of the appatratus are covered.

Looks awesome, every new design that comes out looks great! Keep up the good work!
-
keep us employed
-
i agree. I also think that this will also start taking over some westchester Dept as well
-
I agree. Saw it, loved it and recommend it. If your looking for a bloody war movie, your going to be dissapointed. Outstanding cinamatography (spelling?) and acting. I thought i was going to have a hard time taking Jamie Fox seriously, but i was wrong. Outstanding moive.

From the first time these masks were introduced, i thought they were a silly idea, you can just use a adult mask and also the "it will never happen here" mind set. But after the fire in Mohegan this past week, I see that there really is a need for them, and im glad someone took the iniative to design and make a animal mask work!

Whats really got me ticked off today, is how this reporter can write 3, 4 page articals on the downside of these volunteers, and 1, 1 page artical on the good side. I feel like ranting but ill save it for later, im in class.

Part 4 Its things like this that make me angry. Why would you spend tax payers money on things that wont even work to there full capacity in your own district?? Sure they might work full time outside there district, but honestly I dont see the need. Keep it low cost, but still at a benifit to the people your protecting.

they also came out with motocylce airbag vests a little while ago. http://www.airbagvest.com

hmmmmm do the insurance companies require 21 or recomomend it?
-
you need a CDL to drive the apparatus?
-
So besides the dept, what determines the driving age? Some say state law. Does that have any validity?
-
reason im asking is because ive heard from people in my FF I class (westchester) were driving the apparatus at 18, ambulances and engines, and yorktown is 21. Im not going to give dept names out.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Im all for volunteering, but that is being biased as well. Just the straight facts should be presented and nothing else. If the unfortunate truth comes out that LI Volunteers or Vollys anywhere else are abusing the system and not handleing things they way they should be, a change must be insued. Its not fair to the people that the companies are protecting to bias the information in either direction.
-
I totaly agree. This report might be a little biased but we have yet to see. I hope that they touch on all aspects of the service and state all the pros and cons of both the paid and volunteer service. And I also hope that any bias views will not be stated and if they are, not tollerated by any group. And by that I dont mean going to newsday and burning it down, more of stateing to the public that the report did not show just the facts, but her opinion as well.... in a tasteful manor however. Hopefully the reported just gives the facts and not her opinion.
-
Im looking foward to seeing how this report turns out.
-
how much does this system cost? And what is required for instalation in the apparuatus?
-

Last year in college, we had to find a poem and recite it infront of the class. I used that poem, and at the end, i notice some of the people including the teacher were crying. Its a very touching poem.
