Honestly we do need more training. Our FF I is only 78 hours. If you go to any other state, it is much longer then that. Florida's FF I is over 120 hours. NJ is similar to that. Our FF II class is 28 hours, NJ's is over to 50 hours. In Illinois you have to be FF II qualifed to even enter a burning buliding...over 240 hours of training! Obviously I think NY is lacking in our training!

and so starts the snowball fight... and i would love it to snow down here in FL...i cant wait till next week when i come home!

I actually used to live in brewster on Tamarix Drive off of Sycamore by blackberry hills (or blue can remeber). You guys actually went to my neighbors house a couple of months ago for my mom's good friend. She had passed away in her sleep leaving 2 boys and her husband. I think she was around early 40's to mid-late 30's. The husband had spoken to my parents after it had happened and said that you guys had done a teriffic job and really congratulated you guys on your valient effort. I just wanted to forward that information to you guys so you can let whoever was working that job know and let them know that their efforts had not gone unnoticed.

I got a speeding ticket a while back (dont ask) and went to drivers ed. We had to say our pet peeves about driving. Everyone's were, tail gateing, speeding, all the answers the teacher gets day in and out. I said "My pet peeve comes from a different perspective...when people dont pull over to the right for emergency vehicals. When you dont pull over and come to a COMPLEATE stop, it makes the driving for us 10000x harder, plus extreamly dangerous for you, me and everyone else around us." We proceeded to have a 10 min discussion on this topic. I was quite pleased.

I absolutly love that sound lol, im already addicted. Im very upset however, because my dept down here in fl wont put them on the rigs because of price...they also wont let me wear my new yorker helmet eather, but dont get me started on that, i might have a stroke. Someone in my dept actually did a little test on his own. At 2 intersections he did to different things, first intersection, packed with people, he laid on everysingle siren and airhorn we had, people got confused and traffic didnt know which way to go...bigger jam. The next intersection, same amount of traffic, he gave a quick tap on the electric horn and the air horn as well as a small welp from the Federal, people pulled over quickly to the right and got out of our way fast. Moral of the story, dont drive like a flipping bat outta hell / siren junkie on the way to the call, it gets people freaked out.

Let them know that i would like to be there...

I have the recoil LED as well. Brightest small light i have ever used. You can shine it on objects during the day and it will illuminate it!
