dish soap actually works very well for pracetice and what not...We used it at the fire academy in FL, just regular dawn soap and we had a nice foam blanket on the parking lot

its too soon...it will always be too soon. Flight 93 in my first impressions was going to be a terrible movie that totaly warped the events of 9-11. When I finally saw it, i was brought to tears and realized how wrong I had been. It was done in a compleatly tastefull and honorable manor. This movie however I feel will not be portrayed in the same light. "Mr." Stone will change events in order to make the moive more appealing I feel. 9-11 is just something that you cannot remake, ever. Everyone knows what happened that day, i really dont think we need to relive it, expecially through a directors eyes

This right here is the way it should be done...Its no different then if a chief on scene is requesting a 10-20 responce when your in the middle of town with your lights and sirens going. Go 99% of the way there standard code 3 response, but once you turn on the side streets, there is really no need for sirens anyway, expecially if you are in a residential area where traffic is very light. Sure the occational siren wail at the top of a hill or shap turn is good, but there is no need to be Mr. OMGLIGHTSANDSIRENSALLTHEWAYTOKINGDOMCOME!!!!!! its just unnessicary. Getting through town and around traffic fine and any intersection you come upon is fine, but once you get on the side roads, leave the lights on and siren off (again, use at an intersection is fine)...unless of course they can hear the strobes from their house.

IN all seriousness, If you dont like the way we run this country GTFO AND STAY OUT!!!

Sorry, i messed up with the directions....Take I-287 to the saw mill parkway...go north on the saw mill parkway untill you hit the taconic...take the taconic SP north untill the under hill avenue exit, go east on underhill, past 118, pass the 2nd stop light, and straight through town, firehouse is straight ahead I havent heard anything from my chiefs on this yet though...

' some doors are magnetically sealed, such as all the locked doors in YVAC...once the card is swiped, the electromagnet curcuit opens, and the door becomes unlocked. Its quite the powerful lock too...I think you hvae a better chance of breaking the door before you break the lock.

Triage tags werent used? No blame be placed, but isnt one of the first steps in an MCI to triage the patients useing colored tags? I know I wasnt there, but was a different system put in place to subsititute the colored tags?
-
Kill the power? In all seriousness, good question...If you were to kill the power, does the electromagnet contain a battery backup?

In my department in FL, they dont take this lightly...If the driver is caught without a spotter and he is a career guy, instant 2 day suspension w/o pay...if its a volly, 15 days suspension. Now if they hit something with or without a spotter (spotter gets the same penalty)...the career guy gets 1 week suspension w/o pay and put up for review, and the volly gets 30 days suspension and put up for review.

Down in FL, there is a 4 hour introduction course into VCFS...covers everything from start up of the department, to major fire, operations past and present, expectations, motto's, creed, station assignments. It's a little dry and boring at some spots, but I'm glad they make everyone take it..kind of gets you into the swing of how the dept operates a whole lot faster.

Funny you should bring this up right now.... I, along with another founder (2 out of the 3) were just voted out of office in the Embry-Riddle EMS agency that we poured a years worth of sweat, blood and tears into. Both of us had been doing our jobs, and much more, but yet the general membership failed to see what we had accomplished, or chose to ignore it, and vote for 2 candidates who imo, do not belong running something of this magnitude. So obviously this weekend, I have not been a happy camper
