Apparently the towns that selected TransCare took delivery of the brand new ambulances this past week.
-
Well it's a good sign that TC shelled out all that money to buy these brand new ambulances, and customize them. Seems to me like they want to keep these contracts.
-
Awesome rig, good luck with it!

Sounds good, Thanks

You gotta love the mangets that NDP has on their ambulances, that always get flipped upside down at the hospital

Looks like a very good drill, well put together and it culminated a good ammount of departments up there. I've yet to get my hands on a CAFS line yet, but hopefully in the spring I will.

Now they all match! However, I do wonder why the Union Vale one says "Union Vale Fire District" when the other ones say Town Of Pawling or Town Of Beekman

Sounds like city has another Structure Fire now on Montgomery

I have to agree with you, the departments all get along. Ive heard some towns in other areas that wont go to town x because of a rivalry of hurt feelings. Dutchess, everyone seems to get along great. EMS mutal aid is good, ditto with fire.

CMS is always better than tossing up a plain html site with front page. Easier to manage and all. I'm a fan of e107, free and very very flexible.

Priceless I wonder how many people had to do a double take

I had to have an Unlimited Data plan for my pda. When i was in California i had to listen what was going on here

For my smartphone i have a program called Resco Pocket Radio, for the low price of $19.99 one time, you can listen to anything on your phone that streams using ShoutCast stream whether it be Internet music channels or custom streams. One site i lost the link for, used to have the county scanner on it. If i find it ill post it. But the Resco Pocket Radio program is by far the best one i've used.

Thats the best answer i think we've had in the whole discussion!

A spin off on the popular Westchester thread. Dutchess County probably has one of the best mutal-aid plans I've seen for EMS. Most towns with the exception of a few, have ALS units right in town whether they be career ems such as Arlington and LaGrange, or commercial companies such as Alamo, Mobile Life and NDP. For those towns that have the commercial ems service my question is, how satisfied are they? When a second or third call drops, how would you rate the service? For example, towns like Wassaic, Staatsburg, Pine Plains and a few others have a commercial agency (in this case its Northern Dutchess), how do they find the response times? Granted, the reason they don't have a dedicated ambulance is because of lack of call volume. But i guess my question is how is the average response times for an ambulance, or even a fire department to roll in some of the areas that are semi-remote?

No one insulted EFFD. I just simply said for ALS. 39-71 & 72 get out almost instantly, thats a fact -

I agree with the dispatching being organized, county always knows what to dispatch and when, and if needed 2nd dispatches happen almost exactly at the 5 minute mark. East Fishkill has Mobile Life as their ALS provider, and as far as I know they keep one unit in town. If theres another call, depending on the location MLS may send another unit, or if its on the east side of town Beekman 34-79 responds. Same thing in case for Beekman, if they get bogged down by calls, East Fishkill or Pawling helps them out. Its a great system imo -
More departments should do this, especially ones in Southern Dutchess, and the busy ones on the river. It makes sense for departments that are busy, and have manning. That way you can track whos en route, at the firehouse etc.

Too Funny!

Beautiful ambulance WEMS. Good luck with it!
-
It all depends on the department in Dutchess. Some departments such as East Clinton have a rehab unit, where others just utilize ambulances for them, as you saw today with the Beekman fire.
