LOL doubt it. TransCare is just stealing Alamo turf now, i dont think they have intentions of buying them. If anything ive heard rumors that TransCare would buy NDP or MLS. With the recent win in Millbrook, TransCare now has a foothold in the northern section of the county. I don't think theres any truth to the Alamo Rumor. HealthQuest won't let them go.

As of now, you've got two major media outlets on scene, or at least covering it.

Yes Goose, your right, but bear in mind Sloper is out of the picture now, so is Alamo (in putnam). Empire could grab it or Hudson Valley Paramedics/Regional EMS could get it. But as of know everyone seems to think that TransCare is providing a fine service down there. In Dutchess County, Alamo could handle it i think with ease, TransCare would have to quadruple the amount of crew bases and ambulances/medics it has on, and provide ample backfil for the towns. Also remember Poughkeepsie would need probably 5 units dedicated I'd imagine, City of Beacon maybe 3
-
Look at the setup Putnam County has. More or less it's "countywide", even though its a commercial service (TransCare) that runs the whole show. That could work in Dutchess, but the thing that would cause a problem is all these fire departments with their own medics & emt's would be up in arms because they cant lose their jobs. The solution to that is fine, you keep your medics/emt's but your district still has to pay into the pool for the county ambulances. That could, and i say that loosely, could work.
-
One Word. Change People don't want it. Does it makes sense? Yes. that would be the best thing for Dutchess. but you'd see all the commercial agencies put up a fit, and the rescue squad captains that love their ambulances that never gets out would be up in arms.
-
You also have to look at the Commercial agencies. Sure the rescue squads are one thing, but you also have to look at it from the other side of the window. If you need a medic and you have one coming from 15-20 miles away what good does that do? I understand the call volume up in some of these towns like Amenia, Wassaic, Millerton, Pine Plains don't merit their own contracted ambulance like 54-79, 34-79, 56-79 but still, agencies should place more units strategically.

Lucky indeed. The problem is with some of these ISP's, is they are too cheap to provide their techies with the best training possible, and when you're installing things in a residential setting, bear in mind its someones house. Verizon could see themselves with a nice lawsuit, if god forbid the house burned to the ground.

It should be, it's like assigning a commissioner to be a rescue squad captain, or other squad captain. Commissioners, should be commissioners, nothing else. They can be firefighters or EMT"s or Fire Police.
