Date: 7/4/12 Time: ~2145hrs Location: Long Island Sound off Larchmont Yacht Club (1 Woodbine Ave) Frequency: 46.26 (Dispatch), Fire 15, 155.775 (LPD), Marine 16 & 72 Units Operating: [Larchmont FD: 2222, E35, E34, TL7], [Mamaroneck Village FD: 2242, E42, M2], Larchmont PD, Mamaroneck Village PD, Sea Tow Weather Conditions: Hot, Hummid, 80 Degrees Description Of Incident: A malfunction of the fireworks caused a subsequent fire at The Larchmont Yacht Club. There were 2 rounds that misfired and exploded on the deck of the barge. Following the initial malfunction, there were 4-5 more misfires that exploded at or just above the deck of the barge. During this round of misfired shells, there was a bright red glow on the deck of the barge. The situation was mostly stabilized prior to the arrival of PD and FD boats.
