  2. All I can say is that these plates look a lot better then the yellow ones... They are not cheap though! Custom Plate Gallery - Emergency Services Example... Photo Courtesy of New York State DMV Custom Plates for Emergency Services Form (PDF)
  3. Thank you! Thanks Seth!
  4. Thank you! Yea, I totally agree… it is a great place to vacation. Yes, EFD finished the first part of their master plan for the new museum. It looks great! And thank you, I had a great time! Well actually no, I spent most of my time down island on the beaches. However I did spend a chunk of time up island. And no, I didn’t run into Zeke. I was only in Oak Bluffs one day and when I drove by the station, all of the apparatus were in their bays. The best photos I could get are below. The Bronto was high on my list but I couldn’t find it. It was suppose to be located at the DPW facility in a storage garage but I did not see it.
  5. Hope you enjoyed the photos. As usual, all of the photos I took can be found on my flickr page. A link can be found bellow.

  7. Chief, well put. I am sorry for the loss and I hope a solution is found quickly. R35 was a great truck. I'm glad everyone is ok.
  8. Yes, your right. As soon as it is 100% confirmed, an IA should be posted (to the best of the posters ability). I know I am guilty of it, but can we please try to cut out the personal conversation and move that to pm's.
  9. there is some info about it Here. It was Rescue 35.
  10. IMO, this is false. Only some accidents are preventable. S*** happens! But like you said, that's why its and accident.
  11. Wow... that sucks. That is not E265. It looks more like Rescue 35. R35 is a 2005 KME Predator 1500/600 Rescue Pumper
  12. I guess R6 did not meet a reserve? or is the seller re-selling it? It was already up for auction on another site. Here is the topic about the auction of R6. TMFD's Old R6 & R46 Up for Auction

  17. This questin sure comes up a lot! I know I am young and to some of the older generation this may seem preposterous. But, there are very responsible teens out there are some that are not reasonable. Please don't stereotype all teens as bad drivers! What happed with this tanker rollover could have happened to anyone. There are fire departments and EMS agencies that are run with 100% with teens (except the chief of course). With the unfortunate downfall in volunteerism and budgets in this country, departments have to deal with less. If they are responsible and are given the right training, let them drive! Darien EMS: Run entirely on teens http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0UPDNEMT5Do Saint Michael's College Fire & Rescue: run mostly with teens and some alumni Seth, does this website allow you to post polls? I'm sure there will be interesting results.
  18. I've been a member of flickr for over 2 years now and have never had a problem. I've had more photos stolen from EMTBravo then from flickr. I've had videos on youtube downloaded and reposted by other members. I've had people take my photos and use them as their Facebook profile picture. I am contemplating putting a watermark on my photos but it really takes away from the photo itself. As for the Fire Fighter Close Calls, I would never post any photos online that show improper PPE or a dangerous safety condition. If I did spot a dangerous condition, I am sure I was not the only one to see it. It's the same reason I don't bash departments or members on these forums.
  19. First off, welcome to EMTBravo! I might suggust joining a volunteer EMS agency near where you live/work. Let them train you for free and then take the EMT exam. Build up some EMS experience and then apply for a job. It will in no way gaurentee a job, but it should help. If you are looking to become a paramedic, then a community college program might be the right thing for you. You are very right with the limited employment opportunities, but there are jobs out there, you just need to know where to look. Here are some that are curently hiring... NDP EMS Transcare
