  1. I'm sure there was a reason they auctioned it of, rather then donating it or selling it. But like all of the county's CVPIs, they are used for parts and then sold in a "does not start or run" condition. I agree, it could have been used by another departmnet. That old yellow engine your talking about it Rye FD's ex 194. It is only used at the FTC and does not do responses with Grasslands FD. I'm hearing they love the top-mount over there.

  3. When I was referring to the budget issuse, I ment the FAA budget issues, not the county's. Most airports with FAA funded construction, has halted construction because Washington can't control the debt. Dozens of airport construction projects halted (USA Today)
  4. I'm unfamiliar with New Rochelle and ramapo. I do know the original "Westchester Airport" was located in armonk, where the current IBM facility sits.
  5. Correct. There is no free space at the airport. Curently all of the land that can be used is used. Hangers at the airport are at a premium, and are at full capacity. They do have off-airport parking but it is run by a 3rd party. This 700 Acre airport was not built for what it is used for today. Does anybody remember Somers Airport or Croton Airpark? They should of kept those open...
  6. Great Photos Seth!!! I'm amazed with where you went and what you did in just 10 hours. Great Job! Did you bring your HomePatrol Scanner with you?
  7. Yea, dadbo46 is right. There is no extra space. The terminal is at full capacity and there is no room to put CBP. They are so packed in that an airline has to operate from an FBO (Fixed Base Operator). As for the cars, they now offer parking off-airport with shuttle service to the terminal.
  8. my fault... quoted wrong post
  9. Westchester has had international flights before. Air Canada had 4 daily flights to Toronto for years bus suspended service last year. Passengers will pre-clear customs before departure from nassau. There is a United States Customs and Border Protection office at the nassau airport already. It is also protocol for commercial flights from bermuda and toronto to the United States, to do the same. There is a CBP office at HPN but is reserved for private aircraft. It is located at the Avitat FBO.
  10. Great Photos!!! Thanks for posting, it was worth the wait!
  11. Does anybody know if this truck is in service yet?
  12. The Stop sign is illuminated but does not flash. Anyway, Great Shots indeed!
  13. Today I had the opportunity to go down to Manhattan with rfdu39. We got to stop by some firehouses, the FDNY Fire Museum and Firefighter Appreciation Weekend at the Intrepid. I invite others to post their pictures from the intrepid event on this topic too. Hope you enjoy them. As always, please give me a rep or comment if you like these photos. It really is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  15. I do not think this truck is replacing the current Hazmat 1. The current Hazmat 1 is not that old, I believe 2007. This could posibbly be replacing Hazmat Support 1 (picuted bellow), a 2002 KW. just my 2 cents
  16. Looks like a spotlight, but I am not really sure.
  17. Date: 7/18/2011 Time: ~1925hrs Location: I-684 (MM 1.5), south of exit 2 Frequency: 46.26, Fire 19, EMS 19, EMS 15, NCPD, HEMS (155.895), NYSP Units Operating: [Armonk FD: 2022, 2023, 2024, E288, 51B2], [HEMS: 61A2], [WEMS: 45M1], NYSP, NCPD, HPD Weather Conditions: Hot Description Of Incident: 1 Car MVA w/ injuries Reporters: Writer: firedude Original Call came into 60-Control as a MVA with Injuries on I-684 NB just south of exit 2. 2022 arrived on scene first and found a 1 Car MVA at mile-marker 1.5 SB in the right shoulder. 60-Control Advised 2022 that it would place the accident in the Harrison Fire District, 2022 requested notification only. 60-Control dispatched for a Harrison Chief to landline prior to realizing that it was the Purchase Fire District. West Harrison FD Members: an accidental IPage was sent out.
  18. I departed JFK at 5pm. Here is my Plane... We landed at the Eagle County Regional Airport in Eagle, Colorado at 8pm local time. Beaver Creek has a fleet of snowmobiles. They have initials showing whose uses them. For example, "SM" is for snow making and "SP" is for ski patrol all of them are fitted with LED emergency lights and a siren. Beaver Creek Ski Patrol has one dispatch center and 4 outpost scattered around the mountain. They cover all 1815 acres of the Beaver Creek Ski Area. In the event a skier needs medical attention, the Beaver Creek Medical Center, can treat some injury’s. Major injuries call for an County ALS Ambulance, run by the Eagle County Ambulance District, to respond and Transfer the patient to Vail Valley Medical Center in Vail, Colorado. Here is one of Beaver Creek Ski Patrol's snowmobiles. The Beaver Creek Metropolitan District is protected by Beaver Creek Public Safety. They respond to all EMS, Police and Fire Calls on the mountain. I do not know what kind of training they have but I do know that they are all EMTs. They are always first on scene to any emergency of 911 call. All they carry is a radio, so I assume they do not have arresting powers. So, if Law enforcement is needed, they would call upon the Avon Police Department or the Eagle County Sheriff’s Department. The public safety officers patrol in Toyota Pickups and Toyota SUVs. I have seen the light bars with red lights so they must be "emergency vehicles". They also have an old tow truck. Here is one of their officers hiding behind a pole. I do not know why they have two radios. The whole resort is on a trunked system. The Beaver Creek uses a Unimog to plow snow. I did not ever think I would see one of these in the United States, but it makes sense here. Here is some of the Beaver Creek Metro District's plows... The Beaver Creek Metro District and the surrounding area is protected by the Eagle River Fire Protection District (ERFPD). They have 6 fire stations that cover an area of about 240 square miles, including one of America's deadliest roads, I-70's Vail Pass. ERFPD is a paid fire department with 60 full-time firefighters and 21 resident-intern firefighters. I believe they have around 20 Apparatus including 9 engines, 2 tower ladders and 5 brush units. They respond to all EMS calls too. I tried to contact someone at the station but my emails were not returned. So I had to settle for some outside shots of station 11, at Beaver Creek. I decided to spend an afternoon in Vail. Only a 20 minute ride for Beaver Creek. The Vail Fire Department only has one station, located in the center of downtown. They have 1 Tower Ladder, 2 Engines, 1 Brush Unit and some support trucks. I believe all of their apparatus are 4x4. They are in the process of building another station to support the demand for calls on the Westside of town. The West Vail Fire station is scheduled to be completed this fall. Here are some pictures from outside their HQ...
  19. haha, thanks Seth!
  20. Thanks! I don't know if the new dodge ambulances are in serive yet. Nope, didn't steal them. All of my photos were taken from my camera. If you care to discuss more, PM me. Nice Photos, BTW.
  21. Hey Guys, I just returned to the tri-state from my short vacation on the Island of Martha’s Vineyard. I always try to make some time to do some photography. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Here they are… If you like my photos, please comment and/or give me a rep, I really appreciate it.
  22. I was also wondering if anybody knew what this was. It was placed on top of Bat 9's GMC Pickup. I think it is used for some type of communication device or GPS but not 100% sure. Just thought I'd ask. Its the only one I've seen
  23. Yes, Ladder 21 has a rear-facing blue light... All of the FDNY's newest fleet additions are being upfitted with rear-facing blue lights. The new rescues and new Dodge ambulances both have blue lights in the rear.
  24. Thanks! Ha, yes, it is backwards. I was wondering who would catch this first. My brother took my camera and shot this through a mirror, I think.
