Is rescue 77 and the County Tech Rescue Team considered a rescue company?
-
Need I say more... This is a real rescue. The only real rescue company in westchester is Yonkers FD's R1. The truck it's self is a well laid out (and staffed): New Rochelle's rescue 4, because it's not staffed, doesn't in my mind certify as a real rescue complany. Don't get me wrong, I love the truck, but we're talking about rescue companies.

Correct, All are EMT's. Their actual name is the Town of Winhall Police and Rescue Department. They offer BLS First response to all medical calls.

Guys, the topic of rescues in westchester has been moved to another tread. It can be read here. My question hasn't been answered so lets stay on topic. Does anyone know a timeline for the new truck? Will it be made by KME? Specs?

I could be wrong, but from what I've seen, they have stoped doing this. They realize it's a waste. Instead, on large scale incidents, they mobilize the mobile command units, the emergency support group and emergency command units in certian locations. Will lowering the age to become an EMT or interior firefighter increase recruitment? As many of you know, Connecticut requires EMTs to be at least 16 years old. And from what I can tell, it works well from them. So is it time for New York (and others) to consider lowering the minimum age? Will it have any effect on the system? What are the Pros and Cons?
