If the truck is registered with DES and was assigned an identifier... does it have to have a trunked radio? I think Yes. WESTCHESTER COUNTY EMERGENCY SERVICES APPARATUS PLATE ASSIGNMENTS I believe the WEMS Ambulance at Bedford Hills Correctional has a trunked too. The Transcare busses in White Plains (31A1, 31A2) and New Rochelle (30A1, 30A2, 30A3) all use the trunk when responding mutual aid. The Empress units assigned to the Grasslands Reservation (87A1, 87A2) have trunked radios. I believe certain SOD units also have trunked capabilities. I think STAT Flight has trunked capabilities as well.

Yes, however, it's replacing MA28 so it should have the same uses. Edit: If you read the 1st post, It states it's uses (Medical, Brush, Rescue).

Date: 3/6/12 Time: 1230hrs Location: In the area or Playland Parkway (Exit 19 off I-95) Frequency: 155.625 (RPD), 155.310 (WCPD), 155.895 (HPD), NYSP Units Operating: NYSP, Rye PD, Westchester County PD, Harrison PD Weather Conditions: Fair, 40 Degrees Description Of Incident: A single Vehicle failed to pull over for NYSP on I95 and fled in the NB shoulder till they exited on exit 19 in Rye. The Dodge Avenger almost crashed into a house on Milton road before coming to a stop in the yard. 1 female occupant remained in the vehicle while the other occupant ditched the vehicle and fled the car on foot, running towards a heavily wooded area. The fleeing criminal triggered a manhunt which lasted for several hours. He was described as a male black, aproxamiltly 6 feet tall wearing a blue jacket. Rye PD sent out a Nixle message, with the description also requesting that people call 911 if they see any suspicious activity. During the manhunt, The Rye High School/Middle School Campus and the Midland Elementary School were placed on lockdown for about 2 hours. Search was called off by NYSP when K-9's had lost the scent and they felt the perp left the area by car. Rye PD received multiple "suspicious person" reports during the afternoon. At aproxamiltly 5:30 in the evening, a subject matching the given description was reported IFO Playland Market (Intersection of Playland Parkway and Forest Ave). Multiple RPD units responded and questioned the individual. He was placed under arrest after the description given by NYSP matched his’. Multiple tattoos confirmed he was the suspect they were looking for. He was transported to RPD HQ where custody was given to NYSP units. Neither have yet to be charged with any crimes.
