  2. This is one of the best parts of Fleet Day, seeing some of the neat toys westchester deparmtents have at their disposal. From the event poster: Yonkers Squad 11: Yonkers Colapse Rig
  3. I like the concept, but it will never work with Westchester. Every department/district/municipality is different and has its own needs. You also didn’t factor in Tankers, Battalion chiefs and most importantly, manpower! I don’t think it will happen, then again…

  6. To my knowledge, they don't have an ESU Program, just a SRT From: http://publicsafety.westchestergov.com/shared-services
  7. Hope it goes to fleet day ! Is ESU and SRT the same unit?
  8. They bought a 2004 Chevy Suburban from East Fishkill and are using it as car 2181.
  9. Rig has been delivered... Photo Courtesy of Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department
  10. 646 sworn-in officers and 70 civilians
  11. I would if it wasn't locked...
  12. I believe they have only 1 tanker stotred at Croton Harmon. It holds 10,000 Gal of water and has a small trash pump.
  13. anyway to remove the "*" when posting from the mobile version? See bellow... (*)
  14. For the FDNY members on here, does the FDNY supply brush gear or do you guys use structure PPE? I know there are several brush units scattered around but what do they carry and how are they staffed? (*)
  15. Possibly Air Support or Structure evacuations
  16. Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone reports the fire has grown to 2,000 Acres, 2 Homes were Destoryed, 1 Commercial Building was Destroyed, 2 Building are still Burning and 236 Homes are without power. NYS Gov Andrew Cuomo put the 106th ANG on Standby.
  17. It's like you read my mind... Anyone know the status of Rockland's fire? Northern Westchester was getting many "outside smoke odor" calls.
  18. After watching footage off the Long Island Brush Fires (Link Bellow), and seeing fire fought with structure PPE, I got few questions... Do any local FD's have wildland PPE? If not, what do you use? Because these fires aren't common, it is my opinion that our area lacks the equipment and training to handle larger scale wildland fires, such as the one in Long Island. Am I right? Long Island Brush Fires: http://www.nbcnewyor...-146673695.html Cool and Informative Video on Wildland Firefighting:
  19. Anyone able to post in the shout box, im not.
  20. If you look on their patch, some say "Security" and others say "Peace Officer". During the summer racing season, they employ part-time security gaurds in adition to the peace officers. The more senior peace officers carry a small revolver and cuffs. This is their patrol vehicle and a video of their most famous peace officer: =
  21. I can't seem to edit so I'll post again. Here is a link to the FAA database with this aircrafts information... http://registry.faa.gov/aircraftinquiry/NNum_Results.aspx?NNumbertxt=7494F&x=26&y=18
  22. Thanks for the info. However, FAA records show that the aircraft with tail number N7494F is a 1975 Hughes 269C aircraft that crashed in 1991 and its certification was deregistered. So, according to the FAA, it's not airworthy. Also, most Hughes 269C has 3 rotor blades, not 2. They possibly put 2 on there so it could be road legal. It also looks like the rotor blades were shortened so they don't go farther then the trailer. Also, if you look on the landing skids, they appear to be permanently tied down by a metal clap to the trailer.
  23. Nice Shots! I can almost guarantee that bird doesn't fly, so it has to be for Public Education.
