Where will the Maritime Response Team Units be housed?
-
Does anybody have a unit and/or agency rundown on who participated? Some departments hang a banner outside because they can't afford a parade, not because they don't want to. Yes, some departments went to both. However, the important live-saving training that took place at the airport seems to be more valuable than a social event, IMO. I congratulate Ossining FD with the 200 year anniversary, and wish them a safe 200 more but one event was more relevant to a firefighter’s job description than the other.
-
The event is not for spectators, that’s why. It is not supposed to be open to the public, only those in local government, emergency services and some media. That being said, there are no gates that will prevent those who did not register from getting in. However, you will not receive a shirt or lunch. If you did register, make sure you go to the check in area first.

Thanks for explaining! For most lifts, BLS is sufficient. However, in rare cases, I have heard lift assists turn into ALS transports. Read above as well. Agreed. It's much more common upstate to have the FD respond.
-
Even if it means taking a rig (and a medic if in Northern Westchester) to a lift assist when they could be responding to a more serious calls (e.g. cardiac arrest or a MVA)? Taking 1 of the 3 medics to respond to a lift assisnt is a waste, IMO, unless there is a need for pain management. I've never been to a lift assist, so maybe I shouldn't be talking, but I'm just looking for clarification and opinions.

The time has been updated to 9:00am - 2:00pm New Poster:

Like the title suggests... Who should handle lift assists? Fire, Police and/or EMS?
-
Yes they did. They got there within reasonable time and set up very fast. I did not see the marine unit there.
-
They did an excelent job in Mamaroneck too. Who should host this water rescue team?
-
One of the largest problems that westchesr's fire service has is the duplicate of services, this would only make the problem worse. This is quite the oposite of Consolidation. White Plains has a foam trailer and correct me if I'm wrong, yonkers has a foam unit. Both Somers and Yorktown have dive/scuba teams. Somers went mutual aid to mamaroneck last summer. Does Mt. Pleasant PD still have a dive team? County Hazmat, Montrose VA and numerous other resources throughout the county already provide this serivce. Not to mention Empress SOD Yonkers has a fully equiped Colapse Rig and USAR trailer. Plus, the county already has a highly skilled tech rescue team that has a decent response time.

It's called a snozzle and it's used to pierce the aircraft fuselage to spread water and/or foam on the inside of the aircraft.

According to local media, plans have changed. The President is now going to make a speach at Ualbany not in Malta. Good News for me! Yup! Air Force 1 somehow lands on albany's runway.

I invite you to check out the Elightbars Forums, they answer and debate these questions all the time. Since they are ususlly misused, they don't do much purpose, IMO. But they do look cool!
