Speaking of Fire Stations, How many does Hastings have. I know of at least 3 (Not including EMS). Protection on Warburton, Hook and Ladder and I think 2 more.

Well, from my outsider per se point of view. I get all aspects. I have where I live an ED that has a few beds in-house. The Fire Department will transport the pt to the ED and from there the bird will come get the pt (Perfect LZ and all). Our major trauma center is about 90 mins away. The thing that kills me is the other day they called for a chopper from a free standing ED which is a 20 min drive (without lights and sirens) to the Trauma center. Go figure. Its all about the $$$$ to some people.

So years back I joined Marlborough NY VAC (TOMVAC). I heard a rumor the other day from a friend that said they have been disbanded. Is this true and if so who runs EMS in Marlborough and the surrounding area. Just curious.

RWC just FYI im glad someone had the guts to do that. I have the same problem where i live now. 12 people on a volunteer department that runs fire / ems and has an outlet mall in the service area.

Well i know them and another private out of say west coast (Arizona). Ive had problems with both nationwide privates (and worked for both). The problem with contracts these days are the business managers will tell anyone anything to keep a contract. The famous "oh we can be there in less than 10 mins" when the closest station is 20-30 mins away.

Well question about "coverage" in town. Where do they "post" when they are in town. Ive always been afraid of hearing that term "coverage" in town. Many privates (not saying Mobile Life is part of this) say they will cover and pull that unit for a BLS / ALS interfacility when "running behind". Just checking

Did anyone think they wouldnt have a gift shop? They have been having repeated commercials here in Ohio.

everybody goes.....I completely agree with you. Ive seen people that should have been gone being held on to for some ray of hope. When my grandfather was in ICU at St. Johns (Yonkers), my mom and whole family wanted him to "stick around". My vote was let him go. Needless to say I became the black sheep and within a week his body listened to me.

Congrats to Greenburgh PD. My one and only one encounter with them years ago was very memorable.

Without knowing about WEMS I do have one quick question. Is WEMS a private ambulance service like Mobile Life Support Services or the like. If they are who pays a private company for equipment. Just out of curiousity and not trying to step on anyones toes.
