    Congratulations to Annie Link, the new Chief(19-1-1) of the Mahopac Falls VFD. There have been several others in the county who made Assistant Chief in the past (AJ (15) and
    KT (12)in addition to Annie) but Annie is the first to make it to the top. Best of Luck to her and her Assistant Chiefs Ted Pollack (19-1-2) and Ted Finney(19-1-3).

    Who "really" picked up the tab for this equipment? I'd suspect that if it was anyone but NYC taxpayers there is some MOU ensuring it's availability outside NYC proper? In which case you'd either get and FDNY operator or the keys.

    If I am not mistaken the chosen candidates have months of training ahead of them before you can see if they can cut it
    They should hire people who want to be dispatchers not someone waiting to get hired by PD or FDs

    So totally agree. Anyone who knows me knows how I feel about this. I have walked up to other FF in bullpens and asked them to turn it around correctly or take it off

    To expound on this a bit, yes, Independent Fire Compaies/Departments can be a subject of a State Comptollers audit. (Example XYZ Fire Departmet Inc contracts with the Town od OZ to provideFire & EMS services in Town of OZ Fire Protection District 1). If the contract is over 200K, they can be audited. There are a couple of audits on the State Comptrollers website of indepentent (501.C.3) Departmetn audits

    Thanks Mike. I was pretty confident that the times were exact but I was waiting for you to confirm it. So....could someone please explain why the Banksville tanker was not enroute for a Banksville structure fire until 12 minutes after the initial alarm? None of this makes sense to me. Is this the norm???
