Rear cover has Putnam Haz-Mat 1!

I have noticed an increase in calls for Stat flight recently. I realize that changes to NYS Trauma protocols have caused these changes but the question I have is not mediicaly related, it is operationaly. What does your departments have in the way of SOP's for establishing the LZ. I know about size requirements. What I am interested is do you make your members wear Full Turnouts and SCBA? Do you pull and charge lines? Do you set up foam? How far away do you stop traffic? And most importently, Why?

(Mahopac Falls, Putnam County) Frequency: Units Operating: See Below Description Of Incident: See Below Writer: EJS1810 Multiple 911 calls reporting Barn Fire at 1 Myrtle Ave, X-St Baldwin Place Rd. PD reporting heavy smoke visable while responding. Mahopac 1 Tanker to scene for pre-plan assignment as well as Mohegan FAST. Lt. 19-9-8 was IC. Additional resources included an additional engine from Mahopac (which also handled 2nd call in Mahopac Falls district, AFA at Pine Grove Pre School), Ambulance From Mahopac S/B at fire scene then redirected to an unrelated EMS call. Putnam Valley VAC to fire scene and Putnam Valley FD relocate Mahopac Falls HQ. Barn was total loss, knocked down by Carmel Highway after Carmel Building Inspector condemmed building. Putnam County resources included Deputy Coordinator CC- 4 and Putnam County Fire Investigation team

That is the plan. The new HQ should fit our needs for the next 50 years or more. We would like any agency that recently built a new building to contact us so we can find out any problems you had or suggestions that will help us. The membership has approved a preliminary concept for the building and the design process is underway. For X635, our Station 3 on Long Pond Rd @ Dixon Rd holds 1 first line engine (18-2-3 1977 Oren, being replaced soon by a 2004/5 KME), our antique(1951 Oren) and currently is the home of Alamo Medic 3 for Putnam. In reference to the comment about the bus driver who hit E-147, I was at the scene and I know she felt bad enough about the incident without resorting to name calling. It was in no way intentional and was due to crowded roadway at the time of the incident. In another thread I saw mention of a Westchester Technical Rescue Team. Exactly what is the Westchester TRT? How are they organized and who are they made up of? I am a 911 Dispatcher for Putnam County and one of the things I am working on is a resource list for specialized teams. Mahopac's annual parade is Thursday July 8 starting at 7pm. 30 departments from Putnam, Northern Westchester, Dutchess, Rockland, and Fairfield CT counties will be attending. Lineup is at Route 6 & Clark Place west of the village and ends at the Firehouse. Reviewing stand will be at Route 6 and 6N

X635, I'm glad you were able to get so many shots of the apparatus. The Parade will be shown localy on Suscom Ch 8 in the next week or so. We feel real bad for out neighbors at Croton Falls for what happened to E-147. I hope that everyone attending had a great time. WAS967, can you elaborate on your statement. I work for the Putnam County Sheriff's Department which is currently the 911 dispatch center but that will change when the Putnam County Bureau of Emergency Services Center opens. Is this a State Law, if so what section of the law?
