I look at the long range forcast.. Did you really think I wasn't in because of her?

I see in the Journal News Legals to day that the Valhalla Fire District approved a resolution to expend funds from The Apparatus Reserve Account to purchase a new Class A Pumper, Rescue/FAST Truck and a Chiefs Car. I remember hearing that they would be getting another ALF engine similar to the one they recently placed in service. Anyone have any detains on the Rescue/Fast? Will it be a utiltity type like Ossinings or something bigger?

My Thoughts and prayers to the family

While at work this quiet night I was looking over the 2005 WC apparatus listings from the WCDES site and I saw something called MDU's. There were 3 listed including 1 for Town of Cortlandt. Could someone give us an idea of what a MDU is or does. On a side note, whats the difference between a Squad and a Squad Support Unit? I've got to stop working midnights. I'm finding so much stuff out there.

So this makes him 2441, Res20cue, 2571, & Haz33Mat. I hope he labels his radios so he know who he is. Good Luck Chief

Driving into work at 2330 wasn't that bad. Now if the public cooperates I will have a slow night and will drive home on freshly plowed roads at 0800hrs.

I just watched WNBC's coverage of the St Patricks Day Parade and as terrible as it was I did see some FDNY members wearing thier Beret's. Good for them. I also saw a bunch marching under the IAFF banner. Perhaps this was thier way to get around the ban. The parade coverage made no mention of it and barely showed the firefighters. It was more importent to get another commercial for Ford on the air.

Putnam Sheriff channel 14 is 153.9125. It is a new "narrow band" frequency. Older scanners will pick it up on close frequencies

Dont buy a house in a neighboorhood with the word lake in it, i.e. Lake Secor, Lake Baldwin, Lake Peekskill, etc. they are all converted summer homes right on top of your neighbor

Isn't Rockland still 44-Control?
-
I would definitly be there(Or I would have to face the consequences) except that I will be working the 4-12 at the new Putnam 911. Here's a thought...... Can you deliver?

NYS VTL has reserved the blue light exclussively for volunteer firefighters. This thread has been discussed at leangth elswhere on EMT Bravo. It is also in the VTL that vehicles authorized to use red/white lights cannot have a blue light/bulb/lens/cover/etc Those agencies that use blue lights on emergency vehicles are in violation of the VTL

Oceanside Fd in Nassau county had a Suburban with a white roof, a little different paint job from Mohegans. The Mahopac chiefs cars with the white stripe werer patterened ofter the car I saw. I am a firm believer in the Tahoe. I drove Both Suburbans & Tahoes when I was a Chief and deffinitly preffered the Tahoe. It was easier to manuver and still held all my stuff. The only downside is the loss of seating.

Difference between Civil Service & Management Confidential

The Chief did what he had to do. Yes, it does go on in other occupations but unfortunatly a stockbroker or mail clerk is not held in the same standards that we are by nature of our chosen profession (both career or volunteer). Look at the FDNY 75/33 Scandal and read the NYC DOI report. The sex was consensual but it still was wrong because it happened in a place that had regulations against such action. I'm sure the it is the same in Sacremento.

The Games must be addictive to Dispatchers ans well as employees of NYU. Maybe 11-1-2 and 17-9-6 can have a contest

LFD is a KME cab designation for a Long Four Door cab. I believe it is 12 inches added behind the crew door. I dont know what he means by former

I feel EMD will work if done right. That means you have to have sufficient personnell in dispatch to have 1 person stay on the line with the caller and run th ecards. The other Staff can do the dispatch. We will be starting with the Medical Priorites Pro-QA EMD at the new Putnam 911 in March. I am worried if we will have the staffing to do it properly

Westchester starts with Dept 201. how did the come up with this system?

So I was driving home after the Big Job and then work today and as I passed what I thought was my Fire Headquarters I see that we have been annexed by the Evil Empire and am now Somers Sta. 10. They got us, I thought, and we even invited them in and gave them directions to get there. But then I started to look on the bright side. So........... Chief Byrnes, the following items need attention. 1. Rear upstairs mens Room needs toilet replaced 2. Need new lights on Apparatus floor 3. Side door needs painting. 4. Roof leaks over rear bay behind the Rescue. 5. The rear Boiler keeps tripping out on safety Thanks Ed, we look forward to getting this list whittled down. BTW, who do we forward the utility bills to? The Somers Fire Department or The Somers Fire District? I dont want to send them to the wrong address, we all know what happens then. oh, also the sheet was property of Putnam Hospital

Who gave them directions?

EDP is not a medical condition. they should not be transported in an ambulance. Most EDP's are arrested under the Mental health Law. That is a Police matter. They have the training and equipment to properly deal with them. The Police should be the ones transporting EDP's not Ambulances, expecially Volunteer Ambulances.
