Unfortunatly a $400,000 Engine is not the Fire Departments fault anymore. That seems to be the going price these days. We just spent $340,000 on our 2005 KME and we have been told that the next one will be more.

We have finally broken ground for our new headquarters station. Just when you think everything is going smoothly some one comes up with a problem. At this past months meeting we had a hour long debate on the type of exhaust system we will put in the new building. The building committee has spec'ed out a ceiling mounted box type system similar to Airmotion or Airvac911. There are some menbers who are in favor of a hose system such as Plymovent or Neiderman. Both sides raised good points and we have decided to have a special meeting to go over both systems. I am interested in hearing from the EMTBravo Network as to what type of system you have in your stations. How and why did you choose the system you have. Is everyone satisfied with thier current system? What types of problems have you had with it? Do you feel it does an adequate job of removing the diesel exhaust? Now that you have had the system, would you change to the other type? If anyone is changing from one type to another, why are you changing? I know that the newest stations in the area are Ossinning Rescue 14/Ladder 41, Lake Carmel, Armonk, Port Chester, and Rye Brook (Did I miss anyone?). I would like to hear from members of these departments as to thier choices. You can either post it here, PM me or e-mail me at EJS1810@aol.com. Thanks for all your help. This is what the network is for.

There will be a parade in Mahopac on Sunday 10/2 at 1pm (?) It goes from K-mart down to the intersection of Route 6 & 6N. (Reverse of all other parde routes). If it is anything like the past years there will be crowds estimated in the high dozens lining the street. (LOL)
