  1. Lineup is on Marvin Ave (Paralell to Main St). Parade goes up from Main/Marvin to the Firehouse at 501 N Main St http://www.google.com/maphp?hl=en&q=501+n+...010141,0.033302
  2. Someone needs overtime. He has way too much free time. Glen or Vickie, Help him out!
  3. Oh God, I'm Old, 067_ _ _. Congrats
  4. Putnam County BOES has been issuing standardized accountability tags for several years. The original were laminated paper tags and now they issue printed (like county ID) tags. I believe the County issues them to anyone who completes FF1 & FF Survival. It is a yellow tag. If you are an EMT it has a green stripe. Individual Departments issue tags to non-interior members
  5. Is Everyonegoeshome.com taken already?
  6. Lake Carmel Best Dress, Best Engine over 10 years Brewster Best Regulation, Best Color Guard Ossining, 2nd Best Overall, Best Rescue, Best Ladder (Senate)
  7. I will try to post the results this weekend. I have to get them from the powers that be. In the meantime check out www.smile-ny.com. Whoever he is, he has fantistic shots!
  8. Or at least wait till after 1600hrs when i get off and don't have to dispatch Fire or EMS for the "Amateur Fireworks"
  9. There is no rule about lights being on or off durring parades with the exception of if the lights are on they must all work. My department dosent run with lights durring parades so that if one bulb goes out we don't get penalized
  10. And the fact that he is a Firefighter means what? Would the headlines had the same reaction if he was a plumber? (no offence to all the fine plumbers out there)
  11. NO amount of driver training classes can prepare a teenager to drive fire apparatus. They do not have enough driving time to understand how to drive emergency vehicles. While there are some adults that also do not have the maturity to properly drive emergency vehicles there is no way that a new driver can properly handle the vehicles.
  12. When the department incorperated back in the 30's or 40's it said in our certificate of incorperation that there would be a 5 member Board of Directors hereafter known as a Board of Fire Commissioners. I believe it was done to make them "Equal" to actual Fire District Commissioners. The new building is being built to the right of the existing building, not behind it.
  13. Wednesday July 21st is the 2nd annual Firefighter Safety Standown. The highlight this year is on Apparatus Safety. What is your Department doing for this year's Standown?
  14. We had a great time doing both the show and the convention. Congrats to OFD, a class act anytime.
  15. This should bring out all the Yankee fans to say something bad about our team. It feels good to have the uppr hand for once. I will ignore all the 26 World Champion comments that will be posted. We have a good team. We will have a good year. Lets not get too cocky too early. We have a long way to go but the future looks bright. LETS GO METS!
  16. How many manufacturers are going to bid on a Smeal Ladder?
  17. Mahopac will be there of course. We are hosting the Putnam County Chiefs Association hospitality room at the Best Western (Esit 21)
  18. My Theroy is that the Parade Gods are mad and punish anyone who holds a parade before Opening Day-Katonah!
  19. I wouldn't mind shorts if the legs were like these
  20. FDNY Recieved an donated ALF built to FDNY Specs following Sept 11, 2001. It was origionally assigned to E-34 then spent some time bouncing around the city. I believe it is now assigned to the Governors Island Detail
  21. My money's on TL-57, his true love. Congrats!
  22. So should some of the posters.
  23. Is this an addition to the fleet or a replacement for Fire Patrol E-134?
  24. From the legal Section of the Journal News 5/25/2006. Carmel Fire Department accepting sealed bids for a 2006 Custom Pumper Unit until 6/5/2006.
  25. If you have a 'wacker out there with 20 blue lights" you have more of a problem then you think. It is up to the Chief Officers of the Department to police this issue. They issue the "Blue Light Authorization Card" and they should be the one to pull it for someone with 20 blue lights on their car. We are our own worst enemy on this issue. Everyone continues to rant on an on about why police should or should not get the use of blue lights/lenses while we constantly break the existing laws regarding use of colored lights, both on our private vehicles and on Fire Apparatus. No matter how you spin it, blue lights on Fire apparatus are a violation of Article 375 of the VTL.
