No it is truly about time the Airlines in the USA are doing this. For the most part the the Airlines in Europe do this granted it is very expensive, but you will be flying a $100 Million Aircraft. JetBlue Airways spends about $85 Million without the engines yes I said without the engines, the engines are Pratt and Whitney's and each engine costs about $10 Million. JetBlue is regulated through the FAA, IATA, and ICAO. I highly doubt any one of these 3 organizations would allow JetBlue to do this if it wasn't Safe. Besides it will take them 4 years to get there according to the article anyway, and the FAA states that a Pilot needs a minimum of 1500 hours to become an Airline Transport Pilot which is an additional License that must be obtained prior to becoming a First Officer for a Major Airline like JetBlue Airways. Source I'm a former JetBlue Airways Crewmember. Yes my numbers a accurate because those numbers came from one of the Vice Presidents of Airline Operations.

37 Medic One was the 24/7 Medic Fly-Car that came out of Mount Pleasant Police Department during each shift change. Medic one was typically posted at Valhalla Ambulance Corps for there tours. 37 Medic Two was only a 12 hour Fly-Car from (0700-1900) That came out of Transcare White Plains the Fly-Car would be picked up and dropped off at the White Plains Fire House on Ferris Avenue.

I know that I never met you Lenny, but from what everyone has said about you seemed like a truly great guy. I'm sure that the FDNY EMS Station 7 world will not be the same with out you. I know just like everyone else here, that you are going to be missed by not only the people that knew you, but also the people that you have inspired and saved over the years. We all know that you are not with us anymore, but you will forever be in our hearts. May god be with you always, and may you rest in eternal life. John 3:16 " For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life". Rest In Peace fallen brother 5-5-5-5 has be rang out for you. To all your friend's and family my sincere condolences. Corinthians 5:1 "For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens".

I don't see what they would even charge these volunteer FF's with. If the Fire Truck is complies with all regs and is registered. There with be nothing that they can do, and the only thing they can do is a freelancing charge. Which is just a please leave. Even then they don't have to do that, cause it can fall under the good samaritan Act.

Land Zones are often somewhat close to the scene it's quicker then going to the airport. Regardless of and emergency or not before a vehicle can go onto an airfield it needs to me checked. Thus causing the lack of time that you don't have if Stat Flight is called. The only vehicles that don't require to be checked are airport vehicles.

It doesn't look like it has a water cannon on top. It looks more like a Electric Generator truck then anything else. The FDNY replaced the Super Pumper with the small satellite truck. Besides the old Super Pumper had two trucks a tender and the pumper. This truck doesn't look like it can carry any hose, and unless the water cannon pops up from the inside of the truck it's not a pumper. That's why I assume it's a large Electric Generator Truck.

My Father's car caught fire on Westchester Ave. in Harrison. From what he told me he heard a weird noise when he put his foot on the gas. When he got off the Westchester Avenue exit said that he lost his brakes, and after he lost them Black/Blue smoke was pouring out the the A/C Vents. Then he said he saw the paint on the hood bubbling, and he pumped his brakes enough to somewhat slow down. He started to slow down and put the car in park the car started jerking and he jumped out. After he got out the car blew up not once but twice. There were flames shooting out from everywhere, examples: under the car, from the wheel wells, all the windows, including rear window and windshield. He then went into the middle of Westchester Ave. to try to stop some car to call 911. He doesn't have a Cell Phone, and nice man pulled over to call 911.

The way I learned it from a good pump operator. He always told me he does it like this, for a 2 1/2 in max flow is 250GPM, 5 in 500GPM etc etc
